Do you know which band turns 50 this year? The Scorpions. Can you believe that? 50 years of making music. That's a long time. I know this because they just re-released 8 of their major albums in remastered format and I grabbed them last night. Love at First Sting, Blackout, Animal Magnetism. These are some of the best albums I remember from my childhood. I can't believe they have been around for 50 years. Then I start thinking about some other bands that are going to be 50 soon - AC/DC, The Eagles. Wow. I'm fucking old.
Headed over to the client around 7:45 yesterday, got there a little after 8. The weather is cooling off here and the walk wasn't horrible. We started around 8:30 and finished up around 5. We got through so many of their questions it was crazy. We built reports and models and at the end of the day they were happy. One more day of it until 2016.
Got back to the hotel around 5:30, changed, went downstairs for dinner. Had a salad and a bowl of soup. Back in the room around 6:15. From there I just watched some shows. Watched a new one last night that was pretty good - Agent X. In short, it's about a special agent who is at the discretion of the VP to go above and beyond the law to fight criminals. A little contrived but it was a fun show, well acted, and not half bad writing. I could handle a season of it. I don't think it will make it past one season, but it was pretty good. I might be surprised and it might last a while.
Went to bed around 9:30 as I was pretty tired. Getting up too early will do that to you. Go home tomorrow, teach two remote classes, then leave again on Sunday.
