Y8 D203

This time it really did snow.  Like stick on the ground make snowmen snow. It started around noon and was still going when I went to bed at 10. I haven't been outside yet this morning but not looking forward to taking the cat poop out in a little while. Crunch crunch crunch. Yes, I admit, it's a novelty to me because I don't have to go out in it. If I actually had to drive or commute in it, I would hate it. Luckily I have the advantage of sitting here in my warm house and looking at it wistfully.

Taught my class yesterday. 5 of the 6 students are okay. One of them is lagging a little bit but I think they should be okay. Today is the hard day and if I lose them it will be this afternoon. Day two is usually where I get impatient.

Just got distracted by something on my desk. I have received two recall notices on my car recently and booked the appointment for them. Going in 12/26. Surprised they are open, but don't care, going to take advantage of that fact.

Anyway, finished class around 2:30 and then had an hour long session with another customer about some problems he is having with his model. I helped walk him through some SQL issues he is dealing with on it. While he is taking a bit of advantage of my willingness to help, it was satisfying getting him through the problem.

We watched some TV last night. Specifically we watched Hulu. Yes, I finally caved in and added Hulu to our available options. B was wanting to watch something particular and I didn't want to take the time to find it. I saw it was on there and said screw it. $12 a month is not going to kill us. Between that and Netflix, $21 a month is WAY better than what most people pay for cable. Plus it gives me more options when I am on the road and want to watch something.

She ended up watching the first season of Murder in the First and together we watched Top Chef Season 2 (not all of it). I wanted to show her that the show has changed in 10 years. At least it had in my memory and I was right. Back then you could be on the show as a Line Cook or just a damn good sous chef. Now it's "I have six restaurants, 3 James Beard nominations, and feed orphans from my pop-up shop". Blah blah blah. It was more about the food than the contestants.

We both played some WoW. I introduced B to the concept of going back into old areas to catch up on missed achievements. She has been enjoying it. I too am doing that and now have 85 battle pets. Rock on.

That's about it. I keep wondering how my sister is doing. I sent her an email recently but no response. Oh well.
