Y8 D200

My ears are killing me this morning. I've had a low grade ear infection hovering around for the past few days and while I have been putting drops in, it wasn't enough. They're both stopped up this morning and hurt. If their not better in the next couple of days, I will make a doctor appointment. My new insurance kicked in on the 1st so no issue there.

Yesterday was travel day done right. Was up early as usual. Got to the airport around 4:15, dropped the car off, and headed to the terminal. I really do love the international terminal. It's big, but in a good way, clean, well laid out, etc. Got our boarding passes, and went in security. There was no as it was 4:50 when we got in line and it opens at 5. Everyone though was so nice and happy. They even offered to let us wait the 5 minutes. They were like, just hold on for a few if you want. We'll just move you over. No it's okay. Now, in the past I have not gone into the lounges in international as I know there is no American or Alaska club. Since we still had 2.5 hours to kill, I decided to see if British Airways would let us in as they are a One World partner. We walked down to their lounge and it doesn't open until 1pm. BUT they had a sign on the door that said Alaska uses Cathay Pacific Lounge. Okie dokie. Off we went. Best decision ever. I like it when B can experience some of the nice travel things I tell her about, like international lounges. She was impressed with the size, the amenities, the seats, the showers, etc. They have a wonderful spread in the Cathay lounge. I will definitely be going back in there again. We stayed there until about 7:30 and headed to our gate. When we got to the gate I noticed it was dead and that there were no names on the upgrade list. Fuck it, let's try. BOOM, two upgrades thank you. We boarded and the plane was like 20% full. Beautiful. Everyone was happy, plenty of overhead space, even extra 1st class seats. One of the best flights all year. We had a nice breakfast and landed 15 minutes early. All in all, a good travel experience.

Took the train, got home around 11:45. Unpacked, B took a nap, I tried and failed. Instead I did my timesheet, prepped for the week. After she got up we went to the store. We decided to add a second layer of curtain to the windows in the bedroom. It's really cold and with the new bed we don't have a headboard blocking the cold. I think they made a big difference. We'll see when B gets up what she thought.

Ordered a pizza for dinner, watched some tv and then she was still exhausted and went to read around 7:30. She was out by 8. I was no better and laid down around 9:30 and was done for the day.

Full training for me this. 5 full days. 8 today, 15 tomorrow, 6 the rest of the week. Get a good chunk of money in before the quarter ends. Time to get ready.
