Y6 D208

Yesterday was a never ending day. I didn't go to bed until 3am. I wish it was because of fun or enjoyable reasons. Alas, it was because of hellish reasons. Let's see if I can put this day into some semblance of order.

Got up, started class. Another full class. Another class where 2 or more people were late. I am getting real sick and tired of this. Don't tell me to just start without them either. You know what kind of whining and bitching I would hear if I started class without these people? Not to mention having to repeat myself because they missed something in the first ten minutes. Fuck that. By the time I started class I was already perturbed. Then I had at least two idiots on class. JFC. This was the week of idiots. I should mention, I haven't taught this series of classes in a while because our other instructor has been doing them while I am on the road. I do these ones for groups, but I haven't done public ones like this in months. The public classes I tend to do these days are more hard core and the students typically are of a higher caliber because they have to be in order to be in the class. I had forgotten the level of student who takes these classes. F.M.L. I did manage to get through the day a little early, but it was a struggle.

At lunch, I spent the entire time prepping for what was to come after class. I needed to pick everything off the floor so we could do the flea treatment to the carpet. That meant presents, furniture, everything under the bed, etc, had to be up. I spent my entire lunch doing that.

Class ends and I fall down on the couch for 30 minutes. A whopping 30 minutes. At 4:30 I start treating the carpets. It takes me about an hour to get everything done. At this point we need to leave the house. Off we go to the mall. We are scheduled to meet some friends for dinner at 8 and B needed a new suitcase so we decided to kill time doing that. THAT turned out to be great. She got a 21" American Tourister for 60% off. Regularly over $250, I got it for $109. Nice. While we were in the store, I went into menswear. I have needed a new pair of grey pants and found not just pants, but a whole suit for $129. Grey sharkskin. Tie, jacket, and pants. 50% of regular price. Score. But that wasn't the best score. My vacuums have been having issues. My stick one (about 5 years old now) just doesn't suck like it used to and it's a stick. It's mean for small pickups like cat food spills in the kitchen. I also have a canister but it's in need of serious repair work. It's almost 10 years old and has a short in the cord, a broken belt on the head, and could just use a service. But it's a Miele and trying to find a service center is a pain. Not to mention, it's a $100 minimum just to drop it off. Hence why we have been using the stick. Well, for giggles we went into Sears to look at current ones. I swore I would not replace mine unless it was as good or better. Good luck since my canister was $1100. That means either another one in that range, like a new Miele or a Kirby or Oreck. Or I come down a little into the Dyson range, but the Dyson's are still $500 up. They happened to have the DC39 Animal on display. Seems that Sears is discontinuing it because it isn't selling at this store. It's regularly a $500 vac. The last one, the floor model, complete with everything, was being offered for $175. Done. Ours. Christmas present to both of us. At that price, until I can fix my Miele it's perfect. We were so excited to use it.

We met our friends for dinner at Texas Roadhouse, had a great time, then went across the street to WalMart to get stuff for the house and for tonight. We are hosting a Festivus celebration at our house tonight with two other couples. This will be fun. We were both getting tired but we knew we still have to go home and put things away. We got home around 10 and as we were bringing things in the house, B drops a jar of pasta sauce on the ground right in front. Ugh. Glass and sauce everywhere. I go and clean that up, then finally we put things away. Mind you, the house is still a disaster because everything is off the floor. We then start part two of the flea treatment. Neither of us realized it took two hours to do. Fuck. We have to let this sit until 12:40am. Sigh. Okay. So we wrap presents, do dishes, start all the laundry that needs to go for the flea stuff (cat bedding, blankets, etc), and wait. Before you ask, yes we wrapped the suitcase. Um duh? Side note, there are 127 presents now currently under the tree. Yay consumerism!

At 1am, we finally have everything done, off the floor, and we are good. The new vac has been used and brought tears to both of our eyes. It's incredible. Happy but tired we start to go to bed. Nope. Fucking cat has pissed all over the bathroom floor. MOTHERFUCKER. Exhausted, I then have to wash the floor, the mat, and clean up the mess. All said and done, I didn't get to bed until 3 because of the cat.

Today better be less stressful or I will snap.

Y6 D207

I have never been happier to see a Friday. This has been one long ass week. I get through this class and I am done for the week. Granted I only get two days of respite before 2 more days, but at least this week will be over.

I had a full house yesterday and went right up to the money again. Mostly because out of the 12 students at least three didn't belong in the class, three knew me and had a million unrelated questions, and 3 were beyond the class and asking a million questions. The remaining three were perfect students. I got through it all and collapsed on the couch. I didn't mean to but I fell asleep for about 30 minutes. When I woke up, I started to prep for dinner. I made a nice pork loin last night. After dinner we both were craving sweets so we headed to the store. Around 8:30 we went back out. Why? Because B discovered fleas still on the cats even after bathing. Well duh, the majority of fleas hang out in the carpet. Bad thing to say. We were then at Petsmart getting carpet flea shit so the minute class is over today I can take care of that. So much fun.

I will say it's nice having her home. Even if she is being clingy and has a cold. I do need her in the house. I won't deny it. I am much more stable with her around. Yeah I guess that's about it.

Last day, let's do this!

Day 4 of being up super early. I am awake dammit. So awakasffjfskas

Huh? What?

Ok. I am here.

Nothing major happened yesterday except me having to report a student for stupidity. She just was not keeping up in the advanced class and she is signed up for the expert class today. I normally finish yesterday's class with about 30 minutes to spare. Yesterday I finished with ONE minute to spare because she kept asking the same questions over and over. I reported her to my boss saying either the material is too much for her or she just simply isn't paying attention. Either way, she was a distraction for the rest of the class. I can have patience with people in the beginner and intermediate classes, but not the advanced and definitely not today. I have a full class again today and I cannot spend my time babysitting one idiot. Side note - I calculated out how much I am making the company this week - just under $36k. Not bad for one week. I am covering my cost for sure this month. In total we will finish out December with around 60k for the month just from me. Not too shabby.

After class I didn't do much. B is clingy after being gone (self admitted) so I sat with her and we started to catch up on some of the shows we watch together. We did do something together which was way over due - we bathed and flea treated both of the cats. She found some on my cat which led to a whirlwind of baths, laundry, and meds. That was needed but exhausting. Around 8 her cold was hitting her real hard and I ended up having to go to the store for Mucinex. She needed something specifically to loosen her up. I know it helped because we both slept solid last night. Her cat hates her now though after the bathing. She snuggled next to me all night on the opposite side of B I believe on purpose. Yeah take that for bathing me! Silly cat.

Before bed I exchanged emails with my boss about the next couple of weeks. I am scheduled both Mon and Tues the next two weeks but that's it. I wanted to know if I needed to take PTO or if he had anything. I checked and even before this week I have 78 hours of PTO left. I get 8 hours per week and taking the four days off wouldn't kill me. He wanted to give me all four as comp but we decided to make the books look good I will take two comp, two PTO. Which means in the next two weeks, I will have 4 working days with 12 days off. Booyah. I can handle.

Alright. Let's see if this student shows. Two more days to go.

I recovered from the alarm fiasco but was all tweaky all day. Here's irony for you though:

At the end of class (about an hour or two afterwards) I get an email from my boss with like 900 people CC'd on it. I am thinking oh jeez who did I piss off in class now. Because some of my students were not up to par as far as skills and were driving me nuts. I also knew these same people, who were taking a Beginner/Intermediate class, are going to be in my ADVANCED and EXPERT classes today and tomorrow. Really? You could barely make it though the fucking beginner stuff and you think you're going to keep up in an expert class? Fuck you. Anyway, I was expecting a 'they didn't like this or they were upset about the server issue on Monday' kind of email. Nope. Instead it was praise for me as one of the students was so impresses he wanted to PREPAY for four more classes in 2015 as long as I will be the one teaching them. BAMF bitches. That's how it's done.

I was also in contact with B yesterday as she made her way back home. Once more she had trouble in DFW just like me and a million people do on a regular basis. I think in 2015 I am going to specifically try to contact through ORD or PHX more instead of DFW. See if that keeps me happier. I am already booked on 3 different trips in Jan and Feb already. Fun fucking stuff Timmy.

B finally landed around 4:20 and our friends picked her up. With traffic and baggage and them being slow as fuck, they finally got her around 7. We all went out for dinner, I treated them as they did make the drive through some gnarly traffic for me. They left and B and I settled in to unpack everything. She brought home some cool stuff like a Charlie Brown Xmas Tree and her great grandma gave me a gift - $25. Woo hoo! Hey it made her happy so what the heck. For someone in her 90s and in Detroit, that's some cash money right there.

We finally got to bed around 10. I am glad she is home. Three more full days of teaching, then two more next week, and two more after that. Damn I am booked hard this month.

Is it Christmas yet?

DAMMIT. I slept through all my alarms. Didn't wake up until 5:45. I am stressed TWO days in a row.

Got up yesterday early to check B in for her flight and had a ton of time to kill before class (unlike today). Yesterday morning was bad. I had no server. Had 12 people on class with no server. I had two people trying to reach my boss.

At 9 I had to basic suspend class until I reached someone. I looked like such an idiot. Luckily I did get ahold of someone and didn't have to cancel class completely. I had class restarted at 9:45 and I cut lunch to 30 minutes to try and make up for lost time. We did pretty good. We are only one module behind but I usually have a buffer in the morning of the second day anyway. I am going to eat that buffer this morning and keep us on track. I should still be able to finish class on time today.

After all of that fiasco I was just worn out when class was done. Not tired, just worn out. And THEN my calendar pops up to remind me I have a 4-5 meeting as well. Fuck. Sat in on that call for a full hour. Finally at 5:20 my day was done. I just flopped on the couch but THEN I realized fuck I still need to do laundry. Fuck. Started laundry, had some dinner, watched a couple of shows, still doing laundry, played some Diablo and finally finished up with laundry around 10:30. Collapsed into bed and called it a day.

Obviously I was tired as today has started off so lovely.

I have 2 hours until 12 people are expecting a class and I have no server. And of course no one is responding. And I have to check B in for her flight in one hour. And I have to reassign the login for the class since I wasn't supposed to teach these anyway. Ugh. Hello Monday fucking morning.

Yesterday was pretty dull except for the upstairs neighbor going at it again. Stomp goes the elephant. I sent a scathing note to the property management company. Hopefully someone will follow up. Also hopefully someone will shoot the fat fuck in the head. Look, I am not against the guy because he is a big guy, but he shouldn't be on the second floor. He's too fucking big to be above someone. It's not just me either. The office people have heard it first hand. He stomps. Hard. Fuck.

Made a cornish game hen for dinner. Served it with mac & cheese and creamed spinach. Finished season 5 of Rookie Blue. Cleaned the hamster cage. Washed dishes. Blah blah blah. Laundry tonight. Vac tonight. B home tomorrow.

Whee.

Y6 D202

Had a pretty decent day yesterday. Had to go out at one point for reasons which kind of pissed me off. I had to go to the bank, take out cash, and put it in B's account at Chase. Why does that piss me off? Because before she left I gave her $300. While she has been gone she has been buying stupid shit and paying for too many of her slacker's friend's stuff. Which means I am paying for their shit. She knew how much she had going into this trip and I feel like she abused it just assuming I would be able to bail her out. I almost wasn't. Seems if you don't have a chase account, they will not let you deposit cash into someone else's account due to money laundering issues. Luckily they were able to accept my Chase credit card. They need to be able to have a paper trail of anyone who deposits cash was their explanation. Regardless, I was already pissed that I had to go out and put money in the bank and now it was a hassle to do so.

Other than that I had a pretty decent day. I watched some TV, was finally able to get my timesheet and expense report done, played some video games, tested the new laptop out on the TV with an HDMI (side note, this is the first computer I have had with an HDMI out and I wanted to see how it looked as I think I am going to start carrying an HDMI cable in my bag. This way when I am sitting in hotel rooms I can run the laptop to the hotel TV to watch stuff. Hence why I was testing it.), and generally did stuff for me. My friend came over around 7 and we went out for sushi. Found a place here in town which, while not the best, is satisfactory for this area and to quell my needs if I want it. We tried to head downtown after but none of the places really fit our tastes. As a result we just came back to the house around 8:30 and sat and chatted until 10.

I putzed around for a little while more and then went to bed around 11. The house is pretty clean as I got rid of garbage yesterday. Going to do a surface clean of stuff later today but mostly Monday as B is back Tuesday. So yeah, up at 6:30 for no good reason.

Y6 D201

Dear god it's 8:30 and I am just getting up and doing this. What a slacker I am. I guess I needed the sleep though. I went to bed around 11 so that's only 9 hours but for me that feels too long.

Yesterday I was up at 5, did my morning stuff, then at 6:30 I went to the grocery store, Home Depot, and FedEx to mail packages. By this time yesterday I had all my day's tasks completed. See why I like to get up early?

Came back from running errands and tried to catch up on work stuff. I say try because the client I was just at isn't entered into the system. Turns out they never signed the contract. D'oh! Basically I worked last week for free (not me personally of course, but you know what I mean). This isn't the first time with this client and we know they will sign it, it's just one of those fun amusing times where we realized what happened. I did some work reading instead that I have been meaning to catch up on. It's the stuff I would normally do this time of year instead of being swamped.

Made myself some mac & cheese, chicken breast, asparagus, and cottage cheese for dinner. Watched a couple of episodes of Rookie Blue, talked to B, and went to bed.

Today is house cleaning followed by dinner with a friend.

Y6 D200

I am home! So nice to sleep in my own bed. Weird having an empty house, but nice to be home regardless.

Got up way too early yesterday. My mind was thinking since I was leaving a hotel I probably need to be up early. Not this time brain. But thanks for trying. I got ready and then sat because it was too early to go over to the client. The 'big storm' had started. It definitely was coming down and the wind was high, but it was not the panic crisis everyone was making it out to be. I hate over reaction.

Let's put it this way:

- yes the storm dropped a large amount of rain in a short amount of time
- it was more rain than most areas drainage pipes and sewers could handle
- there were definitely flash floods in some places - SOME
- power was lost in a few areas due to transformer issues

Notice what all those have in common? They're all infrastructure related issues for the problems. The cities infrastructure couldn't handle 3 to 4 inches of rain. Yeah. 3 - 4 inches. NY gets 2 feet of snow in 2 hours and survives. We get 3-4 inches and we shut down schools. Idiots.

I got through my day, finished up around 3:30 and got on the road. I was home a little after 5. About 90 minutes for 84 miles. Not bad in a rainstorm. Got home and my friends were still here that were watching the house. That kind of threw me off because I wanted to unwind and relax and I didn't end up really starting to wind down until they left close to 8. We did run over to the dollar store where I picked up some more wrapping paper and took care of stocking stuffers. One more thing off my list. While I was gone, the bulk of our Christmas presents arrived. Only about 4 things are still enroute. Everything is scheduled to be here by 12/18. Almost done. I have 2 more things to buy at the store today but that's it.

Once they left I settled in to start wrapping. B called and bitched about her family at me for a good 30 minutes. It was one of those "uh-huh. yep. they do suck. yep." kind of calls. I don't know why people continue to be around 'family' when all it does is piss them off and make them angry.

I finished wrapping around 11:30 and went to bed. The friends did the sheets for me before they left so I was able to climb into a well made, clean bed. Nice.

Today is paperwork, a couple of errands, and season 5 of Rookie Blue. Oh and groceries. There is NOTHING to eat in this house.

Y6 D199

The "Storm of the Century" has apparently begun outside. Seriously schools in certain areas have been closed. Um... it's raining. Like 2 - 3 inches of rain. That's it. NY just had 12 feet of snow in like one day and we are closing schools for 2-3 inches? WTF is wrong with us? Don't get me wrong, I am not going to enjoy driving home in it later tonight, but it's not life threatening. Sigh. Humans.

A shout out to my niece who just graduated high school six months early. Damn smarty pants taking after me with her big brain. Good job kiddo!

As for me, I taught all day, stopped at Panera on the way back to the hotel for food (because I didn't want to go out later if the SotC had started), settled in, and finished season 4 of Rookie Blue. I did talk to B or shall I say, I held the phone while B bitched about everyone in MI. I don't want her going back there anymore. Every time she is around or deals with those people she slips back into an angry bitchy person. It's annoying as hell.

Went to bed around 10. Had a rough night but it's because I left the heat on and it got way too stuff in here. Last day and in roughly 13 or 14 hours, I will be back home. As of right now, I should have little to nothing to do tomorrow except wrap presents. Yay me.
