Hard time falling asleep last night which has led to a rough waking up this morning. But just need to get through the day and I am done for a while. Tomorrow I am going to go over my schedule for Jan and Feb because I am not 100% sure what the heck I am doing or where I am going.

Taught during the day. 2 students which made for an easy class. It's a challenging class but they got it and they made it through with no issues. We finished up about 45 minutes early which is what I anticipated. I expect about the same today. Napped after class which is what screwed up my sleep last night. Resolution for 2015 - no more naps. They fuck me up too much. I love them, but they're too hard on my schedule. Got up, waited for B to wake up, then made dinner. Some chicken. Nothing exciting. She then went on a marathon of Downton Abbey. I went in the other room and organized files. Speaking of which, I got my first 'we see what you're doing' email last night. Seems three of the 200 plus files I downloaded in the last couple of days raised flags. Oops. I got very stern letters from Comcast reminding me that transferring copyrighted material is a no no. I worry they can actually do something about it, but then again, if they do, then that means they are sniffing my packets which means they have violated their own rules. I just worry they will shut down my service. That will cost me more in terms of work than anything else. I am going to back off downloads for a while outside of my synched folder which is encrypted. Next up I will pop for the $40 a year for a VPN connection. Any suggestions on which one to use would be appreciated. This way they won't have my IP address next time. I just don't know which one to use or how they work.

Went to bed around 11 and then tossed and turned. Hopefully tonight will be better. Tomorrow is NYE. Need to prep for the show. I have no idea what to do for a game. I always hate that part. It's annoying and takes up time and is hard for me.

Time to get ready for class. One more day.

Only a few days left in the year. Amazing. We will be as close to 2000 as we are to 2030 soon enough. Numbers like that boggle me. I was thinking about it in the shower yesterday, I was born in 1968. The sixties basically. Now, granted it was the end of the decade and I really grew up in the 70s and more so in the 80s, but even that. Someone who was born in 1980 will be 35 next year. I was 2 years away from high school. Time is an odd construct. And we can't avoid it.

I had a lot of time to think yesterday. Not in a bad way. B got up in the morning and was coughing and feeling like hell. I went to the store to get her the Tussin and some more flea meds for the idiots. I don't know what to do short of bombing this place to get rid of these damn fleas. They just won't go. Came back, gave B her meds, and she proceeded to crash out for about 5 hours. From 11-4. So yeah, I had some alone time yesterday. Not really complaining. I managed to get all of OZ (the HBO prison show, not the happy stuff), all of The Wire, and all of The Fresh Prince of Belair. I also decided I am going to start watching The Librarians. See? I had a useful time. I also dyed my hair, applied meds to the cats, and played Lego Batman.

When she finally woke up, she commandeered the TV from me and went on a Downton Abbey binge. All good. She is still coughing a bit but her screwy sleep yesterday kept her up until 2:30am. I went to bed around 10:30 as I have a class today and tomorrow. Two students, system administration class. This should be interesting. But I get through them and I am 'off' until next week. So two days of my life in exchange for 5. Yeah. I can deal.

Moving a little slow today. Woke up originally at 5:30 but sat on the couch and fell back to sleep for a couple of hours. Not complaining, just a little fuzzy.

The morning was spent yesterday cleaning the house. Well, B cleaned the house, I hid in the other room. Not until after I had put a roast in the crock pot for dinner. THEN I went and hid in the other room. Took her a couple of hours to do. I then started making cupcakes for dessert. Sticky toffee cupcakes. They came out really well.

The only blip on yesterday was when I went to take out the garbage at one point and decided to start B's car. Nope. Too long between starts. Dammit. We managed to jump it so I will make sure she tries starting it again today. I keep telling her she needs to and nope. One ear and out the other. Whatever.

The kid and KBF came over around 3:30 and we had second Christmas. They bought us a Ariel robe for B, a Doctor Who blanket for me, and then a giant Stitch Tsum Tsum for both of us. Which means it was really for me. They liked their presents, especially the crock pot we got them. Got the kid some books, clothes, and other little things too. She was happy.

They stayed until about 8:30. We had the roast, talked, played a game, had dessert, and overall had a lovely night. B watched Downton Abbey after they left, while I played Diablo. I got a little tired around 10:30 and headed to bed. B came in later around 12.

I will say this again - I like that she doesn't trip out about us going to bed together. I know some nights we all want that, but in general when someone in this house is tired, they go to sleep. No hassle, no judging. That includes naps too. You're tired? You're going to nap? Great, I will be quiet. That's it. No bad juju. I like that.

Today there is nothing on the agenda except video gaming and TV. Yay Sunday!

Pretty good day yesterday. Long, but good. Got up and got ready to go out. Our friend came over around 9:30 and the three of us went for a drive to downtown Old Sacramento. It was an adventure. Traffic wasn't bad, took us only about 75 minutes. We got there right into time to have lunch. Unfortunately lunch wasn't as good as last time we were there but we think it's because they had an off day due to the holiday. It was still good, just not quite as good as in the past.

Our friend had never really been to this area and he wanted to see as much as possible. We then walked around until 2ish and did some shopping including the taffy store. That was our friend's favorite part. Left around 2:30 and got back home around 4.

Around 6 we went and ran a couple of errands including getting stuff for making dinner tonight. Grabbed Freebirds while we were out. Got back and B's headache started coming back. It's a migraine that's evolved into a low level cluster. She went to bed around 10:30 and I stayed up to play Batman. Went to bed around midnight.

Today the Kid and KBF are due. They are coming to have second Christmas. This should be fun. Making a roast in the slow cooker and we shall have a good time.

Ah the day after Christmas. The day the bills come rolling in due, the hangover of yesterday sneaks up on you, and over all you go what the fuck just happened? It's not so bad around here. We had a good quiet Christmas and everything was budgeted for so no surprises come January.

Woke up at 4:16, and amazingly enough B was up at 5:30. We toasted some bagels and settled in to open present at 6. Took us almost 2 hours to open everything. Got some nice stuff yesterday. Some practical, some silly, some decorative. Highlights include a new vaporizer battery, a really nice leather laptop case for the road from B, a framed shadow box from B which has all our Guest of the Day stuff in it - I really was surprised and touched by that gift -, Nakamichi bluetooth headphones for the road (they rock. I tested them yesterday and man they are great. I might even use them for teaching.), some clothes and shoes (a nice pair of boots and Keds), a new 5tb hard drive, a really sweet 7-port USB hub, Lego Batman 3, and some books. There's more, but I always feel guilty listing out everything. I don't know why, especially here, but it just seems like everyone always judges. B enjoyed her presents as well. She said something to me while we were making dinner that really made me feel good. She has disliked Christmas as she has gotten older because it felt like no one listened to her or seemed liked they knew her when it came to giving presents. She was always disappointed because she would get the most random stuff and not know how to respond. Therefore she was always uncomfortable opening gifts in front of other people. But with me, I listen. I really do when it comes to gifts. I buy people things they actually asked for on their lists or posts or whatever. Take this one item for example; I got her a crystal pineapple shaped candy dish. Back at the end of October she sent me a link to an auction on eBay for this thing saying she wanted it. I said okay. That was the end of it. I bid on it, won it, stuck it away, and bam, Christmas gift. She was blown away by that simple gift because she remembered wanting it and figured it wouldn't happen since no one buys her things she wants. In the end she was elated with everything Santa brought her. I gave her Christmas joy back. And yeah, THAT"S what Christmas is about. Spreading joy and happiness. I just happen to do it with presents because that's what I am good at.

We did go to the store after opening everything and putting stuff away. We wanted some lunch and things for dinner. The store was a fucking madhouse. Just crazy. We got what we needed and left as quickly as possible. That was it. We were back in. Since B got up so early she took a nap. I cleaned up things and started working on setting up the new HDD. I am using it specifically for movies which meant I needed to move 1.53TB from one drive to another. That took all day. I just started the process of adding them all back in from there new location. While B slept I played Batman. Yay Batman!

When B woke up I made dinner. We relaxed together, opened new stuff, checked out some of the stuff she got, and headed to bed around midnight. A good long day. Today I am taking the day off because fuck you, it's the day after Christmas. I don't understand how office workers are expected to work today. It's just dumb. Work Wednesday and Friday. Um sure. So much is going to get done today. Nope. Not going to do it. Taking the day off. We are going to head out with a friend and have a nice lunch.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

I slept until 4:26am, that's good enough right? I can get up now? I can haz presents?

I tried to sleep. I really did. But it was a 'shift sleep' kind of night. Every hour to hour and a half I was waking up. I honestly just got tired of waking up so often. Now I am up and I will give B until at least 7:30. I can find ways to kill 3 hours.

Yesterday was pretty good especially the night. B had a doctor's appointment in the morning which wasn't good. The appointment was fine it's the stuff surrounding the appointment that wasn't. Too vague. Let me elaborate.

She has no insurance right now. It would have been $550 a month additional to add her to mine. Yeah yeah, that's pre-tax and all that shit, but that's a lot of fucking money. I should be able to easily find her personal for less than even the pre-tax total amount. Plus I was rushed to pick a plan, you remember the whole fiasco. Regardless, because of her situation, she uses Planned Parenthood to get her birth control. She was supposed to have a program in place, but now that we're married, I make too much money for it to qualify. The ladies at reception rudely informed her of this. Plus PP tries to make every patient take a pregnancy/urine test to get more money out of them which B refuses every time. These two factors caused the girls at reception to be mega-bitches towards her. The flipside is she had a wonderful experience talking to the nurse once she got through the doors. They spent an hour discussing how each of the pills has been affecting her, which would be the best, and which would be the cheapest and where. In the end she got a 1 year script which she used at Walmart for $9 a month. When she was done I came in to pay (she doesn't like me inside before and I don't blame her as it is typically a female place and a man sitting there can be weird) and I didn't know of any of the stuff between her and the reception people. They were rude as hell to me and I didn't know why. I found out when we left. If this sounds all too familiar, yes, this is basically the same experience she had last time at the one near our old place. Almost identical. We then headed to Walmart and since we were just going to the pharmacy it wasn't bad. We were in and out. Grabbed some A&W on the way home.

We napped not too soon after getting home. She took a long one while I played Diablo waiting for her. For dinner we had leftovers to clean out the fridge. Then we settled in for Holiday TV. We did Frosty, Nightmare Before Christmas, Grinch, and Charlie Brown.

Then we had Christmas Eve Sex! Oh yeah baby. Next thing you know it's 10:30 and I am out for my first 90 minute sleep. I woke at midnight, 1:15, 2:30, and finally 4:26. Sigh.

May all of you have a blessed and wonderful day with your friends, family, and self. I care for each of you and have you in my thoughts.

Now bring on the presents!

I AM FREE! Well for five days at least. For the next five days my time is mine. No shows, no obligations. In 18 hours it's Christmas. Yes, it is my favorite holiday. The hell with Halloween. Who cares about Thanksgiving? This is the big one bitches. This is the real deal. The one we all love even if we won't admit it. The grand daddy of them all. Christmas. Boo-yah.

Got through class without any issues and finished around 2. Took a nap until about 3:30. At 4 I went and checked the mail and there was a check in there we had been waiting for from Michigan. We did get back almost $1100 of the monies paid for the church and reception for Greenmead. They kept $200 but whatever. We took that money and went to the bank. But not a normal bank trip. We closed out B's accounts at Chase and moved her over to Wells. We now have a 'joint' account. I say joint like that because it's really her account but I have access to it so I can transfer money when needed. When she was in MI she needed some money and I had to go to the bank and do a deposit. Fuck that. She now has a Wells account with almost $1200 in it as we had the check, cash from her old account, and some cash in our wallets. That took us about an hour end to end, but it was worth it.

Got back home, made dinner, and watched the Festivus episode of Seinfeld in honor of 12/23. After B started getting a headache so she tried to watch Downton Abbey while I took care of stuff in here, but she didn't make it long. She was up and down all night with some stomach and head issues. I fell asleep around 11:30 but I know she was up and down.

Today, she has a doctor appointment at 9:15, while she is there I am running to CVS to pick up some supplements I am out of, but that's it. Once we are home it's pants off and wait for Santa time!

17 hours, 47 minutes.

I also promise I will not bug any of you at midnight. Maybe.

One more bloody full day to go and it's Christmas. So close I can taste it. If you go to the Norad Santa site, he takes off in 18 hours. Isn't that weird? Time zones. What a concept.

Taught all day. Good group. See, I am back to the more technical classes which attract a much different calibre of student. Aka Not Morons. We had no issues during the class and I expect us to finish hella early today. I am sure everyone in class will appreciate that. Once this one is over, I am done for 5 days. After class we went out for Italian and to look for some more stocking stuffers at Cost Plus. We actually went to look for a lamp as I need a new one in the office. We ended up moving the one in here to the living room the other night when we had people over and we both like the amount of light it adds out there which means I lost my lamp in here. I am okay with sitting in the dark most of the time, but sometimes I need some light. We didn't like any of the lamps, but B found a purse and we got stocking stuffers. Not a waste, but not what we set out for as a goal. Whatever. We had a nice dinner at our favorite Italian place. We also brought the waitress there a $25 Target gift card. She has been the nicest person in town since we moved here and we wanted to say thank you. It made her night and ours to see her happy.

Came back and I found another hot spot in the carpet which I took care of as well as wrapping the above mentioned purse and stuffing the socks. We both went to bed around 11.

The year is going to end pretty mellow I think. I am emcee for NYE I found out yesterday. That makes me happy. Other than that, there's not much going on around here. Our neighbor upstairs is still driving us crazy. The white trash neighbors got a puppy and are letting it shit everywhere. You know normal stuff. We both decided we love where we live - we love the interior, the design, the location, the space, the grounds - but we both hate the neighbors. All of them. Life. Deal and move on.

Let's get this class over, shall we?

Y6 D210

It's Christmas week!! We are just a few days away!! 67 hours to be exact!! WHEE!

Had a pretty good if unexciting day yesterday. B caught up on her shows, I added new ones (Chicago Fire, 3 seasons; Seinfeld, 9 seasons) for her to watch when she is ready, and mostly we just hung around the house. I bitched earlier on social media that I dislike this time of year because it's almost impossible to just run normal errands. There's too many dumbasses out that going to the store for razors becomes a three hour ordeal. It's easier to just stay in the house. So we did. I had a package coming from Amazon also and I didn't want to miss it.

Around 5:30 a friend of ours stopped by as he was home bored too and the three of us headed out to Chili's for dinner. We had a nice time eating and talking. Finished up and headed back home around 7:30. He is one of the few people with whom we are exchanging gifts and we did our gift swap last night. Everyone walked away happy. I got a Scrump stuffed toy, B got 3 Nora Roberts books and a roll of sticky whiteboard paper. We got our friend a Camelbak bag he wanted. Everyone was pleased with their gifts.

Around 9:30 he left, I started prepping for today's class, and B watched some TV. Headed to bed around 10, she followed at an unknown time.

Today and tomorrow, four students. Then FIVE DAYS OFF. I can do it.

Y6 D209

88 hours until Christmas. More importantly, two classes to teach next week and then I get 5 fucking days off. Yeah baby!

Yesterday was a busy day of cleaning. We had friends over last night and B wanted the house spotless as usual. I stayed out of her way for the most part. I spent a good portion of the day working on file renames, grocery store, prepping for dinner, etc. She took a nap around one point and I spent the time by going to OSH to get her a new shower curtain rod.

Around 6 I started cooking. We were doing a 'traditional' Festivus kind of night. Dinner therefore was meatloaf, spaghetti, garlic bread, corn, and mashed potatoes. Americana at its best. We had a fun night. Our guests brought dessert. A surprisingly good red velvet cake. We then played board games until about 1:30 and we went to bed.

Yep. That's it. My Saturday.
