God it's good to be back on a real internet connection. Fucking shit fuck piece of crap fuckface hotel. Ugh. And yes, I have been up since 3:30 and drove all the way home from fucking Reno on about 1.5 hours of sleep. No, I can't go to bed yet because I have too much shit to do still. Plus in 12 hours I have yet another show to do in the city.
Yeah. FML.
Whatever.
Yesterday. Got up late for once. Made some work phone calls. Then a bunch of us wandered around downtown Reno and went in all the pawnshops. Difference between Vegas and Reno. Vegas has Theory, Ted Baker, Prada, etc. Reno has Pawn Shops with signs saying "Featured on Pawn Stars". Woo? We all hung out most of the day including time in the midway at Circus Circus. Won B some crap. Around 6 we went and got ready for the show. We were on campus by 7:15 and had everything unloaded by 8. From there it was just a fucking fiasco. At least backstage. For the audience it was great. For me it sucked. I got into it with people mostly due to exhaustion but also because of my work schedule "interfering with my hobby". Really? You want to go there? Because guess what, work will always win so deal with it.
We finished up around midnight and headed back to the hotel. I tried to sleep but I was in so much pain from my foot I couldn't fall asleep. Until 2. And I was up at 3:30. Yay.
Okay, time to put shit away and then maybe I will sleep for a while. Maybe.

This is the longest I have slept in forever. I fell asleep just moments past midnight last night and am now just getting moving. I did wake up at 7 to send an email, 7:40 to see the response of that email, but that was it.
Yesterday was a pretty boring day for the start of it. It took us 7.5 hours almost to the money to go from Vegas to Reno. I swear after being in Vegas for a week, Reno is like the bitch kid brother you have to bring with you but isn't quite keeping up. Or, the special kid who you have to be nice to even though we all know he won't ever make it up the tree. Ya feel me? Either way, we left around 8 and by the time we got settled into our room it was 4.
We were third to arrive and connected with the other two guys who were already here. We needed to pick up a couple of things at Target and one of them went with us. At 6 a bunch of us went down to the buffet. Yay buffet! Afterwards B needed to run back to the room so four of us guys walked around and ended up in the casino. Well, we were being goofy and put a dollar in to a penny machine. Then we did .05 bets and each one of us took a turn pushing the button. B found us a little later getting excited for winning $3!! It was silly but fun. We had more friends enroute so we took a break and met up with them around 10. We all had some drinks and elevensies. By the time B and I got back to the room it was almost midnight and we both went right to bed.
Today I was supposed to work, but that email I sent at 7? That was finding out if I did or did not. The answer would be nope. So I am now free until call time. Yay!

B and I had an incredible day yesterday. We did a little more shopping in the morning, followed by me working in the booth and doing my presentations, followed by a wonderful dinner at Rice in the Luxor, followed by a trip down the strip, with a stop at Hershey's WORLD OF CHOCOLATE inside NY NY, followed by incredible sex. Yep. Good day had here. We have spent way too much money, walked way too many miles, and ate way too much food. But. Yep. Life is pretty damn good right now.
Some details? Fine.
B wanted to pick up a new bra for a dress she needed to wear yesterday which is why we started our day at the mall. While we were there we wandered into the Disney store, Pandora, and the Lego store. We made a purchase at only one of the three. And it wasn't Disney. Or Lego.
When we got back, I headed over to the show, and got settled into the booth. B came with me as she had an appointment at the salon for her hair. We had a 25% off special discount and she wanted to look good. Okay. While I was at the booth the most incredible thing happened to me - a Sr Mgr from Disney stopped by! We started talking and from his bag he pulls out... PINS AND EARS! Yes, I got both. That was pretty damn cool.
When my stuff was done, I met B. We had dinner (which was insanely good) and we were supposed to go to the No Doubt concert (another reason why she was with me at the Mandalay) but her outfit was causing serious problems and we ended up not going. That led to some badge fiasco unfortunately. See, we borrowed the only other female's badge for B to go. Well, since we weren't going, I needed to get her badge back. I had to figure out who could take it from us at her hotel. Managed that, but while that was happening, I got a call from her saying she was in trouble because she tried to use on of the guy's badges and got caught. They confiscated his badge from her and banned her from the show. Wah wah...
Meanwhile we were on our way out to the strip. We parked at NY NY and went to the world of chocolate. We ended up buying some desserts, a 1lb Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, and an ornament for our tree.
Back at the hotel, we got busy. Oh yeah! Unfortunately, afterwards I started feeling a little queasy. All the food and debauchery caught up to me and I had to spend a little time in the bathroom.
But overall? Yeah, good day. In a couple of hours we are off to our next stop in Reno!

I earned my keep at work yesterday that's for sure. My feet are so sore still it's not even funny. Almost 12 hours on them. I got up yesterday around the same time as now, 6:45ish, and got ready. I woke B around 8 so we could go down together to get some breakfast. We came on back up to the room and I took off around 10:30 to head over to the booth. By the time I got to the booth it was about 11 and there I stayed until 6. While in the booth I did two presentations and helped get everything ready for the client dinner. Our booth is so damn small. We were on top of each other all day. I kept off to one side just to stay out of the salespeople's way. When I did my presentations I had to kick them all out so I had enough room for customers. The presentations went okay. My boss did one at 12:30 and unfortunately it was a little light because lunch just started then. The same thing happened at my 2pm because lunch was just finishing and some labs were starting. My 5:30 however went really well and had a good number of people. Right at 6, my coworker and I went over to where the client dinner was happening. This was a bit of a stressfest. We had it at the Linq - aka the glorified ferris wheel. But you have to park away from it and walk about 1/4 mile. Which meant we were hauling butt from the car to where the party was AND we still had to setup name tags, organize seating arrangements, etc all in about 20 minutes. Our blood was racing. But luckily everything went off without a hitch and everyone was happy. A good time was had by all. We did cocktails, followed by dinner, and around 9:45 people were able to go up in the wheel. I chose not to and instead headed back to the hotel. B had been alone for 12 hours by now and that was more important to me. She had a fun day herself - she managed to catch a cab, take it over to the shops, and kept herself busy. I was greeted with a surprise bag from the Disney store. More Tsum Tsums!! YAY! She got us the Alien, Hammy, Mickey, and Minnie. That gives us 20 now. We told each other about our day and crawled into bed around midnight. A busy, stressful day, but also pretty successful and rewarding.
Today is not as bad. I have one presentation at 2, some meetings after, dinner at 5:15 with folks, then No Doubt at 7. Tomorrow we're getting up early and heading to Reno. Woo! What a crazy week.

We shopped the shit out of Vegas yesterday! Plus B got to see some sights, I did some work, twice, and every one was happy.
The day started off going down to breakfast and not being happy because there were way too many idiots and children down there. It was around 9:30 and since it looked like a lot of people were checking out, they weren't being too quick to refill some of the empty stuff either. But mostly it was the annoying people. We drove over to the Luxor where the poster was, took care of that. It will be shipped to our house and arrive some time next week. This is fine as B will be home all next week while I am in Texas. No issue.
Since the Luxor and Mandalay our connected, I figured I would take care of getting my badge. I expected a huge line but amazingly enough they had so many registration booths AND they had an excellent system setup for getting your badge, that it took five minutes. Literally. Scan a QR code, confirm my ID, get handed a backpack, a stack of books, and my badge. Done. We brought all that back to the hotel and headed out to the strip. We were able to take a shuttle from the hotel and the driver was hilarious. Old retired cop from NYC. He had comments that's for sure. Best drive on the strip ever.
We went to Caesar's first and explored the Forum Shops. Had lunch at Carmine's which resulted in a ton of leftovers. Fantastic lunch, but not for 2 people. It's family style and our lunch could have fed six easy. Oy. We stayed in there until about 2:30 and headed back to the hotel. I needed to be ready to go do some booth work. At 4 I got a panicked phone call from one of our folks. She was stuck at the airport and needed someone to attend a mandatory vendor setup information meeting at 4:30. I was planning on being there at 5, and it was already 4:08. At first I was confused why she was at the airport as she had arrived yesterday. But I didn't have time to ask her, I agreed to go to the meeting and rushed over to the Mandalay.
The meeting was bullshit by the way. It was the IBM person in charge of the venue going over wifi, security, etc. Since most of the people in booths are sales or marketing people, it was also about how to use the lead guns and similar. BORING. When the meeting was over I called her and first, explained we weren't staying at the Luxor like everyone else. She didn't realize this. She didn't think it would be a big deal for me to get there since it's a 10 minute walk from one end to the other. I'm like nope, I had to drive. She apologized and said she wouldn't have sent me if she knew that. Whatevs. I needed to know why the hell she was at the airport! Here's the story - the printer fucked up and sent a bunch of our materials to her house in CO instead of to Vegas. Her husband works for Southwest and I guess has enough pull that he was able to put it on a cargo plane inbound for Vegas. The plane unfortunately was delayed so she was stuck waiting. All good.
I then did the rest of my booth stuff, got B, and we went off in search of dinner. Everything was obviously packed and a frustratingly amount of time later, we ended up at In n Out. It's across the street from our hotel and actually really hit the spot. We ate in bed, relaxed, and crashed out around 11.
Today is my big day - in the booth from 12 until 6ish giving multiple presentations followed by dinner at Linq. I have about a 10 hour day ahead of me once it starts. Ready set go.

Oh Vegas, you bitch. My head feels oh so lovely thanks to you. What do you mean it's my fault? Your pretty lights dazzled me! Your shining baubles lured me in! You brought me vodka with giant rave sticks and half naked women! Yeah okay fine, it's my fault. But hey, thanks for a good time.
Our day was long and amazing. I got up with less than three hours of sleep yesterday, packed, and we were on the road at 6:49am. The drive itself wasn't bad to be honest. Pretty boring but not bad. I got really great gas mileage on the car, around 45 mpg for a lot of the trip. B pretty much slept the whole way which was a good thing as we didn't go to bed until well after 1am. Rolled into Vegas at just before 2pm and even managed to stop once for gas but no other stops.
Side note - the lack of stops on the way here AND the lack of not having to go outside last night at all are some of the many reasons why I am glad I finally quit smoking. On a 7 hour car ride I would have easily stopped 2 or 3 times for smoke breaks. More on this later.
Checked in to the hotel and went off to find food and this one particular store I have been wanting to go to. We had INCREDIBLE thai food. It's always hard finding stuff B likes but she gobbled up her Pad See-yu like no tomorrow. I had a thai beef salad that was one of the best I have ever had. After lunch, we found the store I wanted. It's a store specializing in items for the transgender community. I have been looking for a couple of things for my halloween costume and figured they would be my best bet. Little did we know, it was their annual Halloween party last night. We walked into this place only to be surrounded by a room full of people in costumes. Everyone looked great but it was a bad time to shop. I did find a couple of things, but didn't buy anything as they were all busy and I wanted to try stuff. We are going back Tuesday morning when it will be less crowded.
After all that we headed back to the hotel, got back here around 4:30 or 5. We both took a nap, me about an hour, her about 2. We had 9pm dinner reservations with a bunch of people from my work. Headed over to Mandalay Bay around 8:15. On our way in we went past the shops. The first shop as you walk in is a men's clothing store. B saw a sport coat that she said I should try on. I figured the stuff in the store would be well out of my price range but what the heck, why not. While we were in there, I saw another sport coat that was more practical - black, very basic, but with this shimmering rainbow lining. I tried it on and fell in love. So did B which is amazing.
Side note #2 - this is her first time to Vegas. She was like a true tourist looking at the lights and sounds and shops and EVERYTHING. She was slowly getting into it.
Back to this sport coat. Anticipated price? $300 - $600 range. Actual price? $175. Mine. Mine now. Even B agreed because I can wear it for work. I looked good, it was practical with a bit of flair, and I can write it off on my taxes. S-c-o-r-e. From there we happened to hit a memorabilia store. Now she normally doesn't go for anything like this BUT they happened to have a Sorcerer's Stone poster with all 3 signatures on it. Original price? $1100. BUT 50% off sale going on. $550. Ugh. No we didn't buy it. I wish I could have right on the spot, but nope, not ours.... yet.
We finally got to the restaurant and had a great time. It was a mexican place and pitchers of margaritas started happening. There was 10 of us and we had a blast. The strolling mariachi band even stayed at our table for extra songs. Maybe it was the $100 in tips our table slipped them but what the heck. After that 8 of us went up to The Mix - the nightclub on the 64th floor of the Mandalay Bay. Holy shit, that view.
Here's where my boss and I shine. The rest of the group doesn't know how to function in places like that. We got us through the rope, in the reserved section, and right on the wall overlooking the strip. BAMF. This was also B's first time at a real club. She was watching and checking everything out. Next up, bottle service - aka $350 for a bottle of vodka so you can make your own drinks. Yes, we bought bottle service. Fuck it. Our boss was with us and we got him hammered. SO hammered that I found out that our team (all 2.5 of us) made $850k so far this year for the company. Of that wanna know how much I brought in? $450. Yeah. When I heard that my brain started spinning hard. Before the night was over I had negotiated a new laptop for me AND the above mentioned Harry Potter poster for B. Yes, we are going back today and I am buying it for her on my corporate card. BAMF.
To me one of the best parts of last night was not once having to leave to go smoke. I didn't have to leave the table, I didn't kill my throat and I didn't ruin my new jacket with smoke smell. THAT to me is a significant victory.
Today I have to be in the booth at 4:30pm for about an hour for pre-show setup but that's it. I am going to take B on her first trip of the strip. Oh and buy her a poster. So far this trip rocks.

I am one tired ball of tired this morning. I am writing this on about 2 hours and 45 minute sleep. Which wouldn't be an issue if I wasn't about to get in the car and drive for 8 hours. Ugh. On the other hand, Vegas here I come.
Got up yesterday for my final day of teaching. B drove me so she could get the car loaded and pick up our friends who were coming with us. I taught all day until 3:30 and then headed back on the train. B picked me up and we headed off to our special show around 4:30. It took us 2 hours to get to the theater thanks to traffic. The place was incredible. Best theater we have ever performed in with regard to staff, setup, stage, lights, etc.
Overall the show was incredible. It's shows like that which remind me why I do this. Fully packed house with extra chairs setup to accommodate people. Sold out and then some. Luckily the show started early and we managed to get home by 1:30. We unpacked as quickly as possible to get things in the laundry, fed cats, and did as little as we absolutely needed to in order to get into bed.
Today we drive to Vegas and then spend the week there while I work the booth. It's going to be a long week. Sigh.

If I ever have to deal with a day like yesterday again, I want fucking hazard pay. I should not have to be in situations like I was for this company. In the morning on my way from the train station to the client I was verbally assaulted and followed by a raving lunatic homeless person who was shouting racial slurs and profanity at me. I was actually a bit afraid for my safety. But let's fast forward to lunch where the same son of a bitch sees me leaving the building and not only does the same thing, HE FUCKING SPITS ON ME. Yeah, I was spat upon by a crazy homeless person yesterday. How was YOUR day?
Ugh.
Other than that, it was a decent day at the client. Got back to the hotel around 5, picked B up, and we went and grabbed some food. We also ran a couple of errands. Nothing exciting. Got back to the hotel around 7 and packed. We crawled into bed around 9:30 and watched some TV on the laptop until about 11. All in all, a mellow night.
Only drama was between, gee what a surprise, me and my director. We have a special roadshow tonight about 60 miles from where I am right now. She texted me with all this last minute stuff demanding I call her husband, yadda yadda. I texted him asking if he really needed me to call and his response was "no, just make sure there's a chair [in this location] for [this actor] during [this scene]". That's it? Yeah. Okay. Done. Meanwhile in a different chat window she is losing her shit especially when I tell her I don't know if I will be there exactly at the time she wants me to be. I am like "I have a job and when it's done it's done. I will get there when I can". That of course tweaked her out. I really don't want to do this show anyway. Whatever.
Tomorrow I get to drive to Vegas for a week. THAT should be interesting.
Ugh.

Yesterday was a little better for me physically but I am still over this thing 100%. I even had to turn a tabletop fan on me at one point while I was teaching to help cool me off. If I could have spent yesterday in bed I would have been able to beat it, but no. As of right now my biggest problem is my throat. I still have the sore throat and probably will for a while. I am also still a bit achy but nowhere near as a bad as Tuesday.
Class went well. I am down to three from the original four and after lunch was down to two. Yes, I am doing onsite live training for 2 people. It will be back to three today as one of them had to leave a few hours early for a family thing. I don't mind the smaller groups. Especially live. It's more fun this way. We did finish early but due to a medical emergency at one of the stations, my train back was 35 minutes delayed and I ended up at the station at the same time as I would have normally. Yay.
Got back to the room and B and I got ready to go out. Our friends were coming over and we were going to Benihana for dinner. To me that place is to Japanese as Taco Bell is to Mexican but B likes it and I knew there was one here so we go. I did drag our friends along because I wasn't about to suffer this alone. We had one more friend who couldn't make it and the plan was to go over to his house after dinner. They got to our hotel around 5:30 and we hung out until 7 as the reservation was for 7:30. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The food? Meh. But whatever.
After it was about 9 and I decided I wanted to head back to the hotel. Our friends drove and I had them drop me off. B went with them over to our other friend's house. Good thing too as she didn't get back to the room until after 2. I would have been looking at my watch the whole time being a big grump. Smart move on my part not going.
Instead, I caught up on email and was in bed by 10:45. I tossed and turned a little still from my illness but finally fell asleep.
Two more days to go then Vegas.

I'm sick. Flu. But I am fighting it. Right now my left ear is blocked and my throat are killing me, but that is better than I was last night. Here's the day:
Got up around this time, did my normal morning stuff. Woke B up at 6:20 and she dropped me off at the train station at about 6:50. Got into the city around 7:15 and was at the client by 7:30. At this point I was still feeling okay. Not great, but okay. My ears and throat were just starting to bug me. We got through class but as the afternoon wore on, I could feel myself getting weaker and achy. By the time we finished and I walked back to the train, I was dying. I was starting to sweat, it was painful to move, etc. I finally got on the train and hit the station around 4:40.
We went and got Panera for dinner so I could have soup. Too bad they gave me less than a can of Campbell's worth. Yet still felt they could charge me $5.49. Um, piss off. Finally got back to the hotel and it was a struggle to eat. I managed to get food in me and then got into bed around 5:30. I spent the next 4 hours in and out of sleep, sweating, freezing, sweating, etc. At one point you could have wring my clothes and had a glass of sweat. It was gross. The fever broke around 9:15 and I felt a little better. B and I decided to watch Blacklist, after which I promptly fell right back to sleep.
I tossed and turned but overall had a decent night after that. What I am worried about is I am going to do it again by straining myself today. In a perfect world, I would sit in bed all day today too. But no. I have to do it all over again. Sigh.
