I didn't enjoy teaching yesterday's class. It was late, the students were duds, the material is boring, and it's not a topic I deal with all the time any more. But I got through it just like they did and now it is done. Just like most things in life, you just need to deal with them, and move on.
The upside to the class starting at 8:30 is I had a bunch of time in the morning to catch up on tv. Watched the season finale of Legion. WHAT A GREAT SHOW. I really love that show and can't wait for it to come back. So well acted, written, and directed. The cinematography is just top notch. The soundtrack is so good too. Ugh, I want all shows to be that good.
When class was done, B and I started planning out her mom's visit. We wanted to figure out what kind of groceries we still need, how many days of eating in versus out, how much gas are we going to use, what about car service back, etc. We got all that taken care of and we called her mom to make sure everything was good for her as far as things we are planning. As of right now, we are going to a Tulip Festival, the beach, and the zoo. That leaves two days open as floaters. Just enough planned activities mixed with do nothing we feel. With that planned we were able to plan meals accordingly.
We had our own dinner and then took the drive to the big Walmart a town over. See, we don't have one in town except for a neighborhood market. To get to a HUGE (by my standards) one we have to drive about 15 miles away. Yes, I am a big ol' hypocrite sometimes; but truth be told, they have everything under one roof, their prices are cheaper, and it's pretty fucking convenient. I know, I know. It makes me a horrible person but you do what you have to do sometimes.
We managed to get all of our stuff, plus a couple of t-shirts for both of us all for $100. If I could afford to shop at other places these days, I would, but I would rather save my money for other goals. Speaking of that, paid some bills yesterday including rent which is why I wanted to nail down our grocery and plan list for her mother. I budgeted 100-150 for groceries and we were right on the money. All good. What was weird is we are usually in that store weekends during the day. Being in there on a Friday night was just odd. It had a weird vibe to it. Like a temporal space vibe.
Got back home and after putting things away, well, we got a bit frisky if you know what I mean, nudge nudge wink wink. That was fun. Next thing you know it's almost 11. B decided she needed to watch Road to El Dorado and I played for a while. Went to bed around 12:30.
The other advantage to us going out last night was now we are good to stay in the rest of the weekend. B has a four day cleaning plan to make sure she doesn't clean too early or too late and my only jobs on their are to vacuum and to do laundry. Easy peasy. Otherwise, I am to stay out of the way. I can do that.
