I leave the house yesterday at about 2:50 to allow for road issues and possible traffic. Halfway there, I kid you not, I get an email saying "hey since the roads are so bad, do you want to do this remotely?". SON OF A BITCH. I responded a few minutes later when I was onsite saying, sorry already here. I could have stayed in bed. I could have stayed home. C'est la vie. It ended up being two students local and TWENTY EIGHT remote. You read that right. I sent my boss a message saying WTF? He didn't know about this. He used an old contract that didn't explicitly cap the number of students and the client sent it out to everyone. I had 16 in one location alone and had 5 different locations on. The sad part, is for the two people locally, they basically got to see me teach a remote class. I stayed in my seat all day with the random room pace. We finished around noon, and I headed home. Now, if I had a commute like that everyday at those times, I could handle working there. I made it home in 20 minutes as it should be given it's 16 miles. No traffic either way. No issues. Wasn't horrible at all.
Best part of yesterday was being home and done by 1pm. We tried getting tickets for Black Panther but there were no seats we would find acceptable. I have some holes this week in my schedule and we are going to go on Wednesday at noon. It should be a little less crowded. Or at least a little more of an adult audience.
Neither of us wanted to cook last night and I ended up doing pickup from BJ's Brewhouse. It was pretty good. A little pricey, but nice to eat in the privacy of our own home. B got a migraine last night and around 6:30 laid down. She didn't pop back out until 8:30, at which point I was going to bed because I had been up so long. Oh well.
Today I have a few things to get done for a couple different clients. Then I am heading downtown for drinks. Looking forward to this. I probably won't drink, using the term generically in this situation. Just be fun to get out and see other people without having to teach them anything.
