What a wonderful day we had yesterday. We had the perfect date day. We got up, had breakfast here at the hotel, then headed downtown to Old Sacramento. We did some fun tourist things like go to the old museum. We then walked around the shops, had a nice lunch at a great Italian place which I would drive back out to eat again. We shared a caesar salad, an almond cannoli, then had wonderful deep dish pizzas. After lunch we wandered some more then took a carriage ride through the old streets, along the river, and through the park. When we were done with that I did something I have refused my entire life to do - we took one of those old time photos. B wanted to do it and whatever she wants, I can't say no. Not to something that didn't hurt me, ya know? I always refused because I thought they were cheesy, still do, but it made her happy so you know what, I can be cheesy. If this truly is my second chance at redemption, then I will be damn sure to do all those things I felt I was too good, too cool, too whatever to do in the past. Fuck it. Why not. After we did some more walking and shopping, then came back for a nice nap. After naptime I took her to Outback for steaks. We got back to the room around 9 and just relaxed. She wrote up a new blog post, I watched some TV and organized files. I got into bed around midnight and read and must have fallen asleep. Next thing I remember it's about 1 and she was coming to bed.
Today we are going to the outlet stores nearby. Then it's back to the grind of work.
