Yesterday ended up being a very pivotal and milestone day for a Monday. Some major life changes happened on a random Monday in March.
We got up and headed out around 9am. We went to go look at a potential new place to live about 90 minutes from here. While were driving the TV lady called us back to confirm yes we are sending you a raw check you can cash. Sweet. Once that check arrives I will put it straight onto the Best Buy card to pay off the TV we purchased on Sunday. Arrived at the potential new place about 1 hour and 45 minutes later. We fell in love. Not only with the place we looked at, but with the area, the people, the location near to an airport, the shopping near by, and its proximity to other stuff. It looks like in August we will be moving for sure to a new place and it will save us about $500 a month. (Sorry to my friend who was trying to help us out with something. I will still call you tonight to discuss.) We are very excited about this. It not only helps meet our goal of saving money, but it keeps us where we want to be while still being new for both of us. We are officially on the list for August. Sigh of course this means we need to start packing. It also means something else in our life is about to change drastically.
When we were done looking at the place we spent some time checking out the area and stopped at the mall. B found a pair of shoes she liked - Andy Warhol Tomato Soup can hi-top converse. She rarely asks for shoes so we got them for her. We left there around noon and got back around 1:30. We went straight to the car dealer. That took way longer than I wanted it to as expected. In the end I didn't like their number or their math. I sent the salesperson an email later asking her to explain her math and she couldn't. No one can. It's a bunch of bullshit and no one will admit it. Basically it comes down to the car manufacturer trying to stick it to me twice and making up rules to suit their needs instead of mine. I refuse to accept that and go along with it. When we went in there I made it perfectly clear that I gave zero fucks if this deal happened or not. It would be nice if it did, but it wasn't going to be the end of the world. And it wasn't. After the deal we were both starving and had Boondat for lunch. Filipino fast food at its finest.
Got home and I needed to catch up on emails and some other organizational type stuff. Told my boss we found a new place and too book of certain days for no travel. That went well. He also confirmed my new bonus and allowance plans are in effect. Nice.
Then came the big one. We officially sent the email retiring us from cast. Yep. We are done as of July. Five years of my life coming to a close. We have to retire because it will be 2 hours plus for us to do a show and that's not happening. I am not finishing at 2:30 in the morning and getting home at 5. No way. But we made it clear we are retiring not quitting. So far the response has been positive but not super positive. When we see our directors this weekend, we will see how that goes.
Watched some TV while having dinner. Still love the new TV. Very glad we made this decision. We are both super happy with it. Played a little video game and went to bed.
Now, why am I writing all this at 3:20am? Because I have a doctor's appointment in a little while and in order to miss traffic, I am leaving here by 5. Sad but true. THIS is why we can't live here any more. Amongst other reasons.
Time to start the day.
