Remember the long posts I used to have while I was on the road because I would end up in some bar and have some crazy adventure or be so hungover in the morning? A big part of me is glad I don't write those any more. Adulting. I'm doing it right. Case in point:
Got up yesterday and sat around until it was time to walk over to the client. I left here around 7:15 and got there at 7:30. I would have been there sooner had it not been for the rain. Staying right across the street is wonderful unless it's raining all over you. I also got there early to check out the room and was frustrated that no one came to get me until almost 8. Class was scheduled to start at 8:30 and to sit and wait like that was driving me nuts.
Finally got into the room and luckily had everything ready by 8:20. Everyone managed to show up on time and we got under way. Not a bad class. They are getting the material fairly well with no issues. Since this is only a two day class I did ask why we just didn't do it remotely. Turns out they all work in different offices and this was an opportunity for them to all meet each other. Don't mind the travel and cost to have me out there. Make it easier for them. Meh, I need the miles anyway so whatever.
Finished class a little after 4 and walked back to the hotel. Around 5:30 I went to a grill next door for dinner. The place was so fucking loud I couldn't take it. I ate quickly and came back to my nice quiet hotel. Screwed around on the computer until about 10:30 and went to bed.
See? Nice boring nights. In other news, wished my niece a happy birthday, read cast emails that I no longer have to stress about, and watched the new Muppets show. Horrible by the way. The voices all sound so wrong. They're almost right which is what is so wrong about them. This weekend I may watch the original show just to have the old voices back in my head for comfort.
Today is a lot of the same. Teaching, dinner, leave for back home at 3am Friday. Joy.
