I just felt the first impact of our move. My check is smaller. I thought I would be paying CA taxes since the company is in CA, but apparently they take OR taxes out of my check. OR has higher income taxes than CA due to the lack of sales tax. It's a small hit (about $100 difference) but I had this month's budget down to the penny and that is not something I was planning for this period. I sent my tax guy a message asking what's up with that. I figured I would be paying CA taxes and then have to deal with OR at the end of the year. I am so confused. If that's the situation, fine, I just need to know. Some other things also have changed - my car payment is $45 less because there's no sales tax on my lease, and we have saved when we go to the store, I just was planning on my check being a certain amount. Ugh.
Taught all day up until about 3 on the dot, then we went on another adventure. I have been trying to find the closest Mazda dealer as I need to know where to go for service. Found it. Also found a Dutch store where we got some really nice cheese and stroopwaffles. I miss those from being in Europe. If there's one thing I truly miss it's those. These are real ones just like I had in Amsterdam. That was a nice find.
Got back, sat around for a little while, then went and had Noodles and Co for dinner. While we were out we decided to go grocery shopping to get it out of the way. Right next to Noodles is a WinCo and we did really well there. $200 for about a month's worth of stuff.
When we returned we watched Masterchef finally, sat around, and then I went to bed around 10. I am anxious about today as the movers will be here in about 4 hours. I anticipate a busy weekend unpacking boxes. Joy.
