Y8 D358

Busy day yesterday. Sort of. I got up early and around 7 went down to the garage. I needed to see if the bike would start. I have been disconnecting the battery after use and it has helped. I connected the battery and it started right up. I took the bike yesterday morning because B had her doctor appointment at 11 and there was no guarantee I would be back from my errand in time. I was heading out to Powell's to get in line for a ticket to a limited book signing later in the night. S.E. Hinton was speaking and singing last night and she is a very important author to B. I had to be up early this morning and didn't want to one, not get a ticket (limited to 250), and two, be there all night. So I headed out super early, arrived there at 7:30 and was first in line. Number two arrived at 8:30. I could have moved a little slower. Oh well. By 9:30 there were about 100 people in line. At 10 the doors opened, I got my ticket (#1 thank you very much) and headed home.

I made it home just as B needed to leave. So I could have taken the car, but whatever. I enjoyed being on the bike anyway. I then did some email catch up, ironed clothes for today, and then around 1 brief nap.

I did have a bit of a breakdown in there as well. I was talking with the kid about the passing of Chris Cornell. I then watched some videos I took of Soundgarden when I saw them last and it really hit me. 52 years old. No one sings like you any more...

At 4:30 we headed back out to the bookstore. The event was until 7, but we wanted good seats and we needed to eat. We grabbed Popeye's on the way, arrived back at Powell's at 5:30. Chairs were already out. We got third row seats and sat until 7. By 6:40 it was standing room only. She opened the floor to Q&A for about 20 minutes. I recorded the whole thing for B. We were first to have our books signed (a 1972 printing of Tex and Hawkes Harbor) and we were out of there by 7:30. Boom.

Got home, did some file transfers, went to bed at 9:30.

Today I am speaking/training at PSU. It's WAY downtown and I am heading out at 5:30 or so to miss all the traffic. Let's see how that goes. The drive home is going to suck balls.
