Not much to discuss from yesterday. It was a pretty boring uneventful travel day, which are the best kind to be honest. I am still not used to the backwards time travel arriving at a destination though. My driver got there at 3:45, was at the airport by 4:15. My flight didn't board until 7, but B was so worried about the shutdown affecting TSA lines that she made me do the early pick up. Let me say, I was very grateful for every TSA agent working yesterday. They appeared to be fully staffed and I had no issue getting through security. I did thank the two of them I had direct contact with yesterday. They seemed genuinely happy to be thanked too. I'll take that. I did do something when I hit SFO though to just make sure I won't have any problems. More in a minute.
Left DTW at 7:30 on time and got to PHX 50 minutes early. Unfortunately because we were so early we had no gate and no crew to get us in. We ended up sitting out of the tarmac until we were 5 minutes late. What a pain. But I still had plenty of time and I had my upgrades on both flights so whatever.
Took my second flight and landed at SFO 15 minutes early. As I was leaving SFO I stopped to talk to the people at CLEAR. I figure if there's going to be TSA issues I should have something in my back pocket to combat security lines. They are currently doing a 30 day trial of CLEAR and it is in a good 60% of the airports I use, most importantly, DTW. I spent the 15 minutes signing up. Now when I go back on Wednesday, I can skip the line completely. For me it's good because they are in DTW, DFW, SFO, LAX, MSP, and a few other majors I use. What the heck, right?
Killed some time by hitting the grocery store. This client is being very cheap on expenses and I spent $42 on groceries for all three days here. Kiss my ass cheap people.
Checked in, relaxed, ironed, watched TV, ate, went to bed at like 9:40.
Today I teach, then meeting a friend for dinner.
