I have been up for about an hour, however I have just gotten to this because I woke up to no power. Welcome to the fucking midwest. Good times. From what I can tell, it went off somewhere around 4am. I woke up at 5:21 and immediately knew something was wrong because our white noise machine was off. I figured I hit it in my sleep for some reason but it was still odd. Got up and the thermostat was flashing at me. And it was bloody cold in the house. That's when I realized how quiet it was and knew there was no power. My phone was down to 19% too. I immediately emailed and texted the appropriate people since I have a class at 8:30 today. It came back on at around 5:55. Ironically, my alarm was set for 6 and had I slept until the alarm I would have noticed, but not panicked. This better not be a regular occurrence out here.
Got some stuff finalized yesterday with my co-workers. I now know what are material will look like for 2019. Just need to sit down and develop it. I figure I can get one of the four classes done by Feb 2.
Took B to the doctor yesterday. She is bruised and hurting still. She may have to go back today to get some MRI or X-rays done. We will see. They taped her up yesterday and said go home and rest but you know, shitty service.
Man, I have high expectations. Oh wait. No I don't. I expect people to do the job they're paid to do. And in the case of TSA, not paid to do. Zing.
We stopped at the store on the way home as she wanted sloppy joe's for dinner and I wasn't about to deny her anything right now.
I had some stuff come yesterday from Amazon, including a 3-way remote switch. For those not familiar, you replace the main switch with one that has a little RF device and then you surface mount the remote switch wherever you want. We now have a LOGICAL kitchen switch. Doing the hallway next.
Got to go get ready for class. 7 servers up and running. Two days of class. On a 23 year old product. Fun.
