Even though it's 8am, I have only had 7 hours of sleep. I was up until 1am waiting for B to confirm she made it to OH safely. I mentioned the other day that B is going to the Columbus zoo today. She took her friend with her but they didn't get off work until 8pm which put them on the road at 8:15 or so and it's a 3.5 hour drive. Hence my staying up late waiting for them to arrive and check in safely. You might be wondering why I didn't go as well. Honest truth? This is an important trip for B. They are going specifically to feed the giraffes. The zoo has one of those "backstage" experiences where you get to be the giraffe feeder. This is something B has wanted to do her entire life. We all know my personality - I have to be in control. Well, B wants to take her time, see what she wants to see, move as slowly or quickly as desired, etc. Can't do that with me there. I will be cranky, annoying, hot - you name it. For the interest of making this a pleasurable trip, I opted to stay home and send her friend who moves at the same pace as B, in my stead. Believe me, it's the smarter decision.
In the day we went out and ran some errands. Picked up some trip stuff for B, knocked out a couple of things needing doing, etc. Ordered a pizza for dinner. Watched some tv. Played some video games.
Let's talk about that for a second. Steam had a sale this weekend (as normal) and I picked up two bundles each with two games. The first was Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2. Hate. Uninstalled almost immediately. I didn't realize the focus was mission based skirmish and multiplayer at that. Not for me. The other bundle however is the one I want to focus on. I got the Stanley Parable and The Beginners Guide. Yes, they're old. Yes, I should have played them before now. Shut it.
Stanly is excellent. I found all but 2 of the endings. I have 8 out of 10 achievements. Just a fine little piece of work. Highly recommend. The other is more interesting. It's less a game and more of a peak into a human mind. Took like 90 minutes to play through but the amount of emotion brought out in 90 minutes was incredible. I won't spoil anything for you, but I would strongly encourage you to spend the $4 and check it out. Very interesting.
From 11:30 until 12:45 I stayed upstairs watching TV and waiting. Finally got confirmation all was good and went to bed. Today I have to make one stop for B to exchange something we got yesterday (atomizer for her puff) but otherwise, no major plans. It's a hair washing day which means 30 minutes of hair drying. Good times.
