We were out for 11 hours yesterday. The perfect end to our three day anniversary celebration. We left the house at 9am and didn't get back home until a little before 8pm. Where were we all day? Well most of it was spent at the greatest nail salon in the northwest. We got up, got ready, and headed out around 9 to Vancouver. We had 11am appointments but traffic can sometimes suck through a couple of spots especially on a weekday which is why we left so early. Of course though traffic was mild and we made it there in 40 minutes. Sigh. B needed some lip stuff so we killed time by reading and going to Walgreens. Our nail tech took us in at 11 on the dot and then we both had a great time getting manicures and pedicures. B really liked the place which made me happy. This is the same place I went to back in July that I swore we would go back to once we moved. 5 hours and a wonderful time later we both looked great and felt great. I LOVE this salon. Some of the friendliest nicest people around.
On the way home we decided to stop at IKEA to pick up two small bookcases we have needed since our last place. While we were there we meandered as to let traffic going home die down. We also bought some little things like a new cutting board, a strip light for under my desk, and some pillows for the couch. Since it was still early we then wandered around DSW and HomeGoods. After we went to Famous Dave's for dinner.
Shopping done and food done, we headed home. Traffic had mostly died down and we got home a little before 8. Once we got home we put things away but we were too tired to deal with the bookcases. We left those for today. Watched Project Runway (GOOD JOB TIM!) and then chilled until 11 when I went to bed.
Why was yesterday so awesome? Because we got to spend a full day together just being together. No obligations from work (although I had 14 emails to deal with when we got home), no rushing, no arguments, just us having some personal time before I leave for three weeks. It was really nice and we needed it.
Now today is bookcase assembly and Happy Halloween. We will be doing nothing today which will be quite pleasant.
