Y9 D174

I was listening to a show on NPR last night on my way to the store (we were out of toilet paper and while I really didn't want to leave the house, I did anyway). The show was asking "In the case of sexual misconduct, is your companies HR department on your side or the company?". You're kidding, right? I mean, it's in the name Human RESOURCES. This is the biggest joke ever. On your side. You are a RESOURCE. You mean no more to the organization than a chair or a laptop. You are a NUMBER. You are an inventoried, allocated RESOURCE. While I am sure there are individuals who get into the field and department for altruistic reasons, even they must know on some level their real job is managing assets and resources and at the end of the day, the company is always right. If I were off-base, we wouldn't have to have 3rd party whistle blower protection. We wouldn't have wrongful termination. But after the dust settles, it's all about protecting the company, doing what's right for the company, saving face for the company, etc. If we really wanted a department that was looking out for the individual, how about we start with the name? Employee Liaison,  Employee Assistance, Employee Whatever - anything that shows the employee is put first. But yeah, we all know when that's going to happen.

A bit more sore yesterday than Tuesday. Got uncomfortable quicker. Part of it I think is because I was finally able to shower and moving things around didn't help. I had to go up and down the stairs a few times too and all the bouncing was not in my best interest.

Did some more document work, answered a few emails, prepped for TN. A mostly productive workday.

Made chicken and mac n cheese for dinner.

Watched more Stranger Things. Man Will cannot catch a break.

Went to bed around 10:30. Not much else going on. One more day until payday and I can pay some bills. Second to last Xmas present arrived. One more scheduled for tomorrow and we are done and done. I kept it down to about 60 presents so I am happy. Now to stare at them for a month. Whee! We will bring up the tree and the like this weekend. Get this mother decorated.
