This was my last day for at least if not three weeks where I didn't have to get up early and I wanted to take advantage of that. Hence why I slept in until 6. Went to bed around 10:30 or so which means I got almost a full 8 hours of sleep. Go me!
Before we get into it, I was saddened yesterday by the latest celebrity death. This one hit very close to home and affected me for the rest of the day. Malcolm Young, co-founder and rhythm guitarist for AC/DC passed away at 64 of natural causes. He had been suffering from dementia for the last three years and was slowly fading away. No scary drug overdose (he had been sober since 1985 or 86), no suicide. Just age and the universe. They were one of the most influential bands on me ever. They were my first real rock band. My first concert. I own an SG guitar because of them. I met him once. Not like full on but we were all standing in line to get into a show one night and he came by the line and said hello on his way in. I was always thought that was a nice thing to do. Just very polite. He was always the hard working one of the band. The 9-5 kind of guy. He was credited with writing every single song they ever recorded. Go look at the album sleeves. He gets writing credit on all of them. A great guitarist who will truly be missed. Rock In Peace.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming:
Around here Christmas has arrived!! That's right. All the decorations are up including the tree. Presents are all underneath. Before we get riled up, we figured out a few things. First off, this week while the kid is here we're going to do baby Xmas with them where we exchange gifts. But then, I am gone the 26th - 1st, then B is gone the 11th - 18th. That's a good chunk of holiday time gone. We wanted to make up for it. We did go do a little shopping yesterday. Partially for decorations, partly for gifts, partly for winter clothes. I heard on the radio that it will be another cold, snowy winter and I want to be ready for it. Also Santa may have found me the most bitchin' pimpin' robe ever. It was a pain to wrap but so worth it. I also got a couple more things for the kid's bf. He got a variety 12 pack of 10 Barrel Brewing beer. It's a local brewery and thought it was a nice gift. This way he now has 4 things to open. Make him feel included.
I brought everything up in the morning and then it took us most of the night to get it all setup. Tree in different spots, this over there, move this around. we did it with minimal furniture disruption this year. Go us. It's our 3rd Xmas here too we realized. Wow. Stop moving time. K thanks.
We had tacos for dinner, tried watching a new show (it was awful), and then off to bed for me. B is still on antibiotics and is on a 9-5-1 schedule. Of course she is. Ironically if it were me it would 5-1-9. But okay. I have three days of classes this week but only two students. It will be a full week, but a light week. No plans for today. Just stay inside and maybe watch a couple of movies.
