Yesterday felt never ending. I left the house at 3:20 and got to OK at about 1pm CDT. Three hour layover in Chicago plus an hour sitting on the runway. 3 hours is too long for a layover. 90 minutes is like the sweet spot. Enough of a buffer to allow for delays, but not too long that you find yourself bored out of your skull.
Got a very nice, fully loaded Jeep Grand Cherokee this week. Wow, two good rental cars in a row. Miracles can happen Charlie Brown.
Got to the hotel, unpacked, ironed, lounged around.
Had dinner with the client at Saltgrass Steakhouse. This is a good long standing client so we discussed some of the recent changes and how they may impact the company, our relationship, the future, etc. Hopefully I assuaged his fears.
Went to bed around 10. Used my new portable humidifier. Not bad. Worked pretty well. I knocked it over once. I need a larger mouth bottle for it. But it put out the steam and for once I slept okay in a hotel.
Three days of 15 people each day, four sessions total. I can do it.
Oh and that other gig? Yeah, it fell through because, well, salespeople. Sigh.
