At 8pm last night, after already working a full day, I get notification that stupid City of Minn approved the submitted contract at the last minute. I had to book all my travel for next Tuesday last freaking minute. They still are being stupid and wanting me to fly some ridiculous route that only costs $450. Kiss my ass. I booked my normal flight through Chicago. It was $650. But they allow $57 per day on travel days and $76 per day normal for food. They also allow $130 a night for hotel. I got a suite for $102 and I will spend $57 for the whole damn week on food. We plan to bill them at their max allowed for hotel and food which will more than cover the $200 difference in flight. $76 per day in food. Where the fuck you think I am eating in Minneapolis? Sheesh. I am stopping at Walmart on the way in to the hotel and getting lunches and dinners for a fraction of that. Per their allowance, my food for 5 days should be $342. Literally, I will spend under $50. So yeah, I will recoup the flight and the car service with no problem.

On top of that, at 9pm Sacramento was approved. I have to book that today. So between next tuesday and December 20th, I will spend three weeks on the road. MN, CA, and PA. FML.

My second day with my group went fine. No issues to report there. Good group. I like these people for the most part. They don't ask much of me, they pay attention, they want to be there. You know, a good group.

Had leftovers last night. Wasn't hungry for real food so I ate some pasta with butter and called it a night.

Today I have to work on docs for next week plus 11 other things on my to do list. The biggest ones are laundry, packing, and bills. No paycheck yet though which pisses me off. I hate that my check can come late sometimes. I don't see what it can't just be here at 3am. I get they are west coast, but there shouldn't be any reason why it isn't posted by like 3:05am EST. Fucking assholes.

In bigger news, today marks exactly one year since we rolled into town and moved into this house. Seriously, one year. How amazing is that?? I can't believe a year has gone by. A year ago we had no furniture, just two cats, 4 fish, and a blow up mattress. Now, if I live here 5 more years, it will be the longest I have ever lived at a single address. Only about 1700 more days to go.
