We hurt ourselves yesterday a bit. Walked over 6 miles in the heat. But we did get outside and managed to get some good hunting in. Our friend has been really excited because he gets to see a lot of different things than what's in his area. But it was a bit stressful. Mostly because of the heat. Which is going away as of today. It's supposed to be a good ten degrees cooler today. Good. Another day of that heat would kill us.
Taught day one of my class. Both my students are pretty good. One I have taught before, the other is new but both of them are smart. We finished around 1:45 because they both knew what the hell they were doing which is nice. It's always good when I have smart students. Makes the day more pleasant for everyone.
After class our friend came over and then we took the train downtown. Had an early dinner at Rogue brewery which was much better than anticipated. We walked around Powell's books for a while, then walked the waterfront. Took the train back around 7. B was tired but we needed a couple things at the store. We headed out and grabbed some stuff including some dessert. Came back, had dessert and socialized for a while. He took off around 9:30. I was so tired from walking I fell asleep at 9:45. It was a long day.
B's cousin and boyfriend arrived yesterday too. We got a text from them around 9 asking where to buy an AC unit. They were dying. They have a dog and three ferrets which made the need to cool off even more urgent for them. All the animals were over heating. B is going over to see them today while I teach.
After class today we are going to the zoo. Tomorrow we are getting up early to go to our friend's race, then drive to the coast for an art gallery opening. That should be fun.
