While I am saddened at the loss of Gene Wilder, I am not that upset. He lived to 83 years old. This isn't another case of someone being taken too early in my mind. He had a wonderful life blessed with much joy which he brought to many of us. It is for sure a sad day but not as hard to take as some of the other losses we have suffered this year.

Taught my class, day one of two. Things went pretty well. No issues. Six students all of whom seem to be okay. One guy struggled at the beginning but it wasn't his fault. It was more due to work hardware being difficult. Once we got past that hurdle everything seemed fine.

Finished up class around 2:30 and I had a bunch of miscellaneous emails that had come in during the day to deal with. One of them was a bill from Avis for tolls incurred back in July while I was in PA. I don't know why they couldn't just charge the card on file. Whatever. Handled all those issues. B needed to run to the store to get a couple of things for our trip so we took care of that. In a little over 48 hours we will be on a ferry to Canada. Speaking of trips, I tried looking up some places for us to go for our anniversary in October. I was looking at HI, CA, and even Bozeman MT. It's the kind of place B would like to visit. It would actually be cheaper for us to go to MT than some other places. I can't believe the amount they charge for renting a car at the airport in some places. It was over $100 add on if we wanted to go to Monterey. Screw that. I'd rather walk!

Made chicken stir fry for dinner then settled in to watch Willy Wonka. I said I wasn't that upset I didn't say I was a heartless bastard. Some parts of it still bother me today. When I was a kid the fizzy lifting drink part scared the shit out of me. Still don't like it.

After the movie dinked around for a bit then went to bed. One more day of this class then a one day private and I am done for six days. Can't come soon enough.
