Yesterday was okay. My neck is finally feeling a little better. We made a decision yesterday to send B back to MI for some time in December. Since we don't have to go back in May now, we used some of the miles I have been stockpiling. She will be going 12/7 - 12/17. She is excited about it. After we did all that she started to figure out what she needs to bring and realized she is no longer used to living in snow and had to rethink everything she normally wears. That meant a trip out. Sigh. We went to the nearest Old Navy to get her jeans. That's 20 miles away. Old Navy, Ross, and $100 later she had what she needed.
Came back home and she watched TV while I played games. I got super tired around 9:30 and went and laid down. Next thing I know she is waking me up and I honestly don't know what time it is.
That was my exciting Sunday.

Just woke up. At 9:45. Didn't go to bed until 4:30, but still. That's some good sleeping. Especially since I was up so early yesterday morning. It's also pouring outside right now. Giant buckets.
I was up so early yesterday I managed to go to the store, get kitty litter, change the litter, shower, and do all my normal morning stuff before B even woke up. She got up somewhere around 9 I think it was. We didn't do much of anything yesterday. I got a prescription refilled and went out to CVS to get it. Worked on organizing a bunch of media. (Side note - I realized I am in desperate need of another 5tb drive. I am using up 4.5tb on the current one and will eat through that pretty quick. I know what Santa needs to bring me asap). We finished watching the 1st season of Rookie Blue. Not a bad show.
B took a nap in the afternoon since she was doing the show last night. We had steaks for dinner that I had grabbed in the morning when I went out. She started getting ready around 8 and we went out around 9. I dropped her at a friend's house and they drove to the show together. I came back and watched some of my shows. I love Constantine. Around 2:45, I left to pick B back up. We got home around 4. She told me all about the show and how our friend was asking if I am okay. He noticed when we went out to dinner on Friday that I was pretty cranky. Valid observation. I have been cranky. I am in pain almost every single day lately. I am tired of making that long ass drive to see people. I am frustrated with my neighbor upstairs (more on him in a minute). I stressed because I don't know my schedule for this month still. Just everything piling up that I have no control over and yes, I am lashing out. I am aware of it and trying to be good, but it's just stacking. I am at least slipping into anger and not depression. Good?
I did almost kill our neighbor yesterday. He was intentionally stomping around trying to provoke us. What I did instead was go to the office and asked the girl there to please come listen. She did and heard it first hand. We now have recorded proof that we are not being whiny or making it up. She made note and said she will have the main person go up there on Monday. Not soon enough in my opinion but at least it is on the record.
Today has no agenda. I am going to probably watch season 2 of Rookie Blue and play video games. Go me.

My neck is killing me. I woke up at 4 with a double issue of neck and heartburn from dinner last night. Yay me.
Yesterday was an okay day. Nothing exciting or evil. B and I watched Rookie Blue, had leftovers for lunch, waited for a UPS package, braved the outside world to get some stuff for the cat, and that was about it for the day. Around 5 we headed out towards our old area to have dinner with a bunch of friends - the same dinner that's fighting back right now. One of our friends moved to MN recently and is home for the holidays. Her boyfriend secretly arranged this dinner and we were all waiting for them when they arrived last night. That was a lot of fun surprising her. She almost cried when she saw us all there because she had been worried she wasn't going to have enough time to see everyone while she was in town.
Dinner was nice, back home around 10. Yelled through the ceiling at the loudest motherfucker in the world. Went to bed.
Today? Nothing. There's a show tonight but I am checked out. B is going with one of our friends, but I checked out and I am sticking with it. I originally checked out because I was pissed, then there was possibility I might travel on Sunday, and now I just don't want to go. So there. I need a break.
Let the weekend begin.

I hurt my neck yesterday and am paying for it right now. I do not know what I did but I pulled something and had the worst time sleeping. I kept waking up and wanting to scream. A few minutes ago I just said fuck it and got up.
Yesterday was a good day. Especially since we found B's iPod that has been missing since before we moved. The last time we saw it was in Reno right before the moving weekend. We knew it had to be somewhere in the house and the finger had been pointed at me and my plastic bins and closet. I spent 9 hours yesterday redoing the entire office closet and every storage tub I had to no avail. The upside is I got rid of 2 garbage bags worth of stuff. Plus I freed up a mega ton of room in the office. It only has take 3 months but I feel like this room isn't overwhelming me any more. So it was time well spent. Her iPod? Nightstand, inside a box. I know.
While I was doing all that B made dinner. The kid and KBF did come over around 11 and stayed until 1:30. It was nice chatting with them and relaxing. The kid is doing well. She is stressed in school, but I am super proud of her. She is almost done with the semester. Just has some papers to write and some projects and boom. She has about another 18 months total and she will have her degree. I am super fucking proud of her on that. While I may be a bit flippant about me and degrees, it's still a big deal for her and will open doors.
Dinner was great. Ham, potatoes, etc. B did a great job preparing everything. After dinner we had pie, watched some TV, then I finished up in the office. She took a bath and we went off to bed where my neck starting it's evil plan to kill me.
Today, I do nothing and enjoy every fucking minute of it.

Happy Fucksgiving. As in I give zero fucks about today. I really don't. I don't care about football, don't enjoy tons of family or people, have no interest in parades, and don't need a special day to eat more food than is healthy. It's a Thursday is what it is. Last year we went over to our friend's house mostly because I knew B didn't want to be alone on her first major holiday away from family. Not this year. Peace and quiet thank you.
Got up yesterday and did some catch up and follow up work. I helped out multiple clients on some problems they were having. I managed to get one solved and did a GTM with the client and she was super happy. The other I couldn't figure out and had to hand off to someone else but I definitely tried my best on it. I then spent about 2 hours giving B her intro training. When we were in Vegas my boss suggested I teach her the software tools so we can use her as a resource on occasion. She was down for that and we started her intro training yesterday. I did it and treated it like a regular class. Reminded me of how many years ago I taught X2 how to write HTML on a bar napkin while drinking and oh look, that turned into her owning her own UI company. Who knows what will happen this time. Speaking of X2, I had the most bizarre dream last night. Haven't thought of her in a long while, but there she was in my dream. Weird. I have lost most of the details, but it was odd.
After teaching B, I took a nap. We then cleaned the house, watched a little TV, I made dinner, then we went to the store to get some last minute stuff for today. Hey, just because we aren't going anywhere doesn't mean she doesn't want to cook. She has a whole menu planned and the kid is stopping by for a little while on their way to the BF's family.
B remembered that the kid was coming over and decided the house wasn't clean enough. I went off and hid in the other room for that. I am not dumb. Played some Diablo, waited for her to be done, and went off to bed around 11.
I am going to enjoy the next 4 days come hell or highwater.

It's Wednesday, right? I am seriously confused. I'm home, but it's a day without teaching but it's not a weekend. I am so messed up.
Taught all day, finished up around 2:30, took a 2 hour nap because I seriously needed the sleep, went to the store to get food for dinner, made pork chops, watched some TV, went to bed. That was my day. Absolutely nothing exciting or interesting. We talked to the last remaining important people on B's side. I talked to the kid and she is coming over Thursday to say hi and happy thanksgiving. I talked to friends of mine, forgot to wish them a happy anniversary because I am a dumb ass, but luckily remembered before I went to bed and emailed so it was before midnight! Yeah, that is it. It was a nice quiet day. I would like a few more of those the rest of this week if no one minds.

More people on B's side and mine know now. We told her other grandparents last night. I told one of the guys who was in the wedding. He actually already knew about the married part, just brought him up to speed on the canceled part.
Taught my class. Seven students, most of them kind of meh. They are smart enough, but they just don't seem to have a ton of energy. Probably because like me, they just want to get through this and be done. I don't blame them for that. I am trying to be high energy but yeah, I just want to be done too.
After class we um, did something, thinking... um... Shit. I honestly can't remember what we did after class. I didn't nap, I know that. I also know we took care of some online stuff for her family for Christmas, but I swear we went out. YES! I remember! We went to Staples! I needed a cable for my new laptop. That's it! During class I was looking online to see if anyone had this cable in stock locally so I didn't have to drive 25 miles to the nearest Apple store. After checking everywhere I finally found one at Staples and did an in-store pickup. The cable I needed was a thunderbolt to ethernet adaptor. One issue I have with the new laptop is it only has two usb and two thunderbolt. No ethernet. Sorry, I don't always go places with wifi and I like to teach my classes with a hard line in case of problem. After Staples we went to the piercing place and B got a second nose piercing. It's an early Christmas present for her.
Came back, talked with family, then we both watched the live stream of Ferguson. That was watching history. Felt like O.J. all over again. Watched some less depressing TV with serial killers, then she wasn't feeling well and went off to bed. Me? I got a wild hair up my ass and loaded up Half Life 2 of all things. I started up the steam client to see what was new and was like you know... I may even install Portal for the hell of it.
Went to bed around 11. One more day of teaching then a day of helping some people via email, then boom baby, four days of peace.

Haven't taught from home in 5+ weeks. Have to get myself in the groove. I have a two day class starting in 75 minutes. Okay. I can do this. Shake it off. I am like a large majority of people today - Just get through the next two days, fake it on Wednesday, hello 4 days off.
Spent the day with our friends just hanging out. Nothing exciting. We watched a movie, played on the internet, had the taco bell, etc. B needed the company after being alone for so long. We drove them back to the train station around 6, then we had BJs for dinner. Came back, watched some TV, went to bed.
Pretty nondescript day. Did talk to the kid. That went well. No issues. She was relieved actually too but for different reasons. She was stressing about how she was getting to MI for the wedding. Between plane costs, hotel, etc. So now she doesn't have to worry about it. Plus she is happy for me. That's all that matters at the end of the day.
Okay, let's go shower so I can get through 14 hours and be home free.

Important things first - now that some shit has gone down I can make a 'public' announcement. There's only six of you who read this and 2 of you I managed to get a hold of by phone, so the other four are learning this way. Yesterday everything with B's family came to a boil and a decision was reached - the wedding in May is now officially postponed. See because her mother has had to take a restraining order out against her father and her father's family is refusing to go to the wedding if anyone from her mother's side is there and all in all 90% of her family is acting like 3 year old spoiled children, we said Fuck You this day is about us, therefore, we will have said day when we know you're all going to act instead like adults and not try to make it all about you.
Hence, wedding postponed. We discussed it with B's sane grandparents and they support us and helped us by acting as a sounding board to make sure we were making a good decision. They too think no one will have their act together before May. Once we officially made the decision, a ton of stress just melted away.
Now, the reason we were able to make this decision so calmly and without stress is we predicted this happening and took steps in October just in case. You see, when we were in Vegas for my work we just happened to be in the Luxor and we just happened to pass a wedding chapel and we just happened to go inside and inquire about packages. Three days later we made the best decision of our relationship and got married. As of 10/28 we have already been married. From that day forward we have held this as our Ace in the Hole. We were not going to put our lives on hold because people are children. Speaking of children, I have not told the kid yet. She is one of the people I didn't get ahold of yesterday. I will try today. Hence, no posting about this. We did tell her mother, her friends, and some people on my side, but very few know. Why did we do it? We wanted the day to be about us and we knew there was a large group of invitees who weren't going to let this happen. Fuck them, we win. We made a day for us and enjoyed the fuck out of it. We are going to make a 'public' announcement to people on cast on NYE at the show. There are a few people we need to tell personally like the kid before then but also some people on B's side first.
That was the big part of yesterday. We also had some friends take the train and spend the night. We spent a good portion of the day shopping near the train station waiting for them as it is about 30 minutes from our house. We got some great Christmas presents and there are already 27 presents under the tree. Yep, we're nuts. Deal with it. They arrived around 7, we had a fun dinner, then came back where we relaxed and played games. Around 10:30 though I just got extremely tired and anti-social. My leg was and is killing me again. Yes, I plan on making a damn doctor's appointment now that I will be home for more than two days. I just wandered off to the other room which pissed B off, but I needed to be alone. Hopefully she has forgiven me.
Slept well. And now to make food for people.

So good to be home. VERY long day yesterday. Ended up being up for 23.5 hours total. Got up, drove to the airport, got my new boarding passes, waited, got my first flight with no issues. I did actually sleep on that flight. Unfortunately, it was a 38 minute flight.
Found my gate, waited, boarded a few minutes late but not enough for it to be a problem, and was off to home. Had the standard omelette breakfast, slept again for about an hour, and was at my home airport about 8 minutes behind schedule. Not bad.
Drove home and was home around 12:30. Of course B needed us to run errands which we did. Thanks to my paycheck being okay, we were finally able to stock up on just as both of us put it "stuff" we have been out of for a while - tissues, cleaning supplies, etc. Got back home around 3, put things away, did kitty litter, hung a picture, rehung a closet door that needed fixing, then relaxed on the couch for a little while. I decided neither of us was cooking and we went off to our favorite Italian place. Food was great, but on the way home we had some drama with B's family.
Let me fill in some extra info real quick. Thursday night B went to a friend's house to go see the premiere of Mockingjay with a bunch of our other friends. She was so excited about it. But since she was worried about her car, on Wednesday she had taken it to a garage to get looked at finally. He plugged it into their machine and was able to determine she needed an oil change (duh), a new gas cap (ah! the check engine light issue!), and it looked like it was in fact the fuel pump which would be a couple hundred dollars. Okay, cool. One thing he missed was she had a headlight out which didn't reveal itself until she was driving home at 1am from the movie on a very dark stretch of road. She didn't notice before because there were other cars around.
Alright, all that was because after dinner, I was heading to O'Reilly's to pick up a couple of the afore mentioned items, namely the gas cap and headlight. As we were pulling into the parking lot, she gets a text from her grandfather - "your dad and his bitch are up to it again". WTF? She decided to wait outside and call him while I went into the store. I come out and she is in tears. Fuck. Okay, what happened?
Her mom and dad are having the worst divorce ever. He is a child who somehow found out the mother's new address (where she has only lived for a week), stalked outside to see his kids even though it wasn't his time, it caused a big blowout and now they can't be at the wedding together because of restraining orders and if this one can't go then this whole side of the family won't go and as her grandfather put it "If that cunt is there I sure as hell won't be". Seriously people? Grow the fuck up. B has had enough. Today she is calling her grandparents and telling them the wedding is off unless they can act like adults. This should start a huge chain reaction.
Got home, she dealt with that (like calling her mom to get the whole story) while I dealt with timesheets and expense reports so I won't have to do it today. In the end, I made it until 11pm. B has been up until 3 the last couple of nights and she stayed up to watch TV. I don't know what time she came to bed.
I am so happy to be home and have home shit to deal with today.
