Important things first - now that some shit has gone down I can make a 'public' announcement. There's only six of you who read this and 2 of you I managed to get a hold of by phone, so the other four are learning this way. Yesterday everything with B's family came to a boil and a decision was reached - the wedding in May is now officially postponed. See because her mother has had to take a restraining order out against her father and her father's family is refusing to go to the wedding if anyone from her mother's side is there and all in all 90% of her family is acting like 3 year old spoiled children, we said Fuck You this day is about us, therefore, we will have said day when we know you're all going to act instead like adults and not try to make it all about you.
Hence, wedding postponed. We discussed it with B's sane grandparents and they support us and helped us by acting as a sounding board to make sure we were making a good decision. They too think no one will have their act together before May. Once we officially made the decision, a ton of stress just melted away.
Now, the reason we were able to make this decision so calmly and without stress is we predicted this happening and took steps in October just in case. You see, when we were in Vegas for my work we just happened to be in the Luxor and we just happened to pass a wedding chapel and we just happened to go inside and inquire about packages. Three days later we made the best decision of our relationship and got married. As of 10/28 we have already been married. From that day forward we have held this as our Ace in the Hole. We were not going to put our lives on hold because people are children. Speaking of children, I have not told the kid yet. She is one of the people I didn't get ahold of yesterday. I will try today. Hence, no posting about this. We did tell her mother, her friends, and some people on my side, but very few know. Why did we do it? We wanted the day to be about us and we knew there was a large group of invitees who weren't going to let this happen. Fuck them, we win. We made a day for us and enjoyed the fuck out of it. We are going to make a 'public' announcement to people on cast on NYE at the show. There are a few people we need to tell personally like the kid before then but also some people on B's side first.
That was the big part of yesterday. We also had some friends take the train and spend the night. We spent a good portion of the day shopping near the train station waiting for them as it is about 30 minutes from our house. We got some great Christmas presents and there are already 27 presents under the tree. Yep, we're nuts. Deal with it. They arrived around 7, we had a fun dinner, then came back where we relaxed and played games. Around 10:30 though I just got extremely tired and anti-social. My leg was and is killing me again. Yes, I plan on making a damn doctor's appointment now that I will be home for more than two days. I just wandered off to the other room which pissed B off, but I needed to be alone. Hopefully she has forgiven me.
Slept well. And now to make food for people.
