Ugh another less than adequate amount of sleep. This time though at least I got 4 hours of sleep. We didn't get to bed until 5am thanks to the show. AND we have one more to go tonight. Although based on things that happened last night, I really don't want to do it.
We got home around 7 yesterday. I proceeded to do laundry, 2 weeks of time sheets, 2 weeks of expense reports, kitty litter, answer emails, clean up, repack for next week, and a million other things while B and the two friends who drove with us all slept. Bastards. They slept a good portion of the way home and then slept until noon. I on the other did not. They all went to the store around 3 and that's when I slept for a whopping 90 minutes. Whee. We ate some dinner and then B and I got ready. Our costumes rocked. She was a minion and looked incredible. Me? I was "a mouse, duh!". Aka I was Karen Smith from Mean Girls in her halloween costume. I was PERFECT. 100% screen accurate. No seriously, I looked good. We headed out for the show around 9 and arrived a little after 10. As we arrived at the theater they were putting up the SOLD OUT signs. Yep, another year where we sold out. That means in two days we performed for over 1500 people. Reno had over 1000 and we had them setting up folding chairs last night to fit more people in.
Downside? We had to get all those people in the theater. I didn't finish with all the pre-show stuff until almost 1:20. About an hour later than normal. I did my pre-show material as quickly as possible, but it was tough. People were getting restless but I had to wait until we had everyone inside. Pre-show went well. I did a marshmallow virgin game that was hilarious. The costume contest was okay. The winner was a woman dressed spot on as Nebula from GoG.
It wasn't until right before the end that it all went to shit. Once more the evil queen reared her dragon head and attempted to bite mine off. She swore we had left the microphone on and she was hearing voices on stage. She was sort of right. We were standing (we being tech crew) in a spot we don't normally stand because the audience was so packed. The result was anything we said was getting amplified and echoed from the back wall up on the stage. The audience couldn't hear us, but the performers could. She first accused me of being behind the screen, then she started calling me a liar and telling me the mic was left on. While I tried to explain to her there's no way in hell the mic would pick up ambient sounds like she was claiming, she was too busy calling me a liar. Even her own husband was telling her she was wrong and to let it go. Unfortunately she didn't. When the show was over she tried the same shit again, but this time she made the mistake of doing it in front of people. EVERYONE got to see how nuts she is as she attempted to once more attack me. I just gave up and left. On the way out her husband stopped me and asked "is there a mutiny? are people leaving?". I told him that while I can only speak for myself, I will not tolerate being yelled at like that again. Period. Breaking point reached. Two nights in a row I get yelled at in public? No thank you.
We were fuming on the way home. By the time we got home we were so exhausted. I still had to take off clothes and makeup but managed to eventually get in bed.
Let's see what happens in the next 12 hours. Don't forget! Daylight saving ends today! We get an extra hour of this shit.
