Y6 D164

I overslept this morning. I slept well, just longer than I wanted. One funny moment last night was when I woke up in the middle of the night, looked over and saw how much bed I wasn't using. I rolled into the middle of the king bed and went back to sleep. When I woke up just now, where was I? On the edge of the bed. Sigh. Fine. Be that way body.

Class was interesting yesterday. I got there earlier than planned which wasn't a problem, except that my contact had her phone on airplane mode and wasn't getting my texts or calls. Even though I was there at 7:05, I didn't get into the room until 7:40. Humans.

Once in the room everything kind of pissed me off. The layout, the setup, and then the best part - "oh here's your mic" - my what? I don't do fucking recordings. I don't like being recorded. Apparently that was part of the deal that no one bothered to tell me because they know I don't tolerate that shit. Fuckers.

I start class and my students are just rolling their eyes at me. I probe and find out it's because they don't believe they will ever be able to use the product properly. Okay. Let's dig deeper at lunch. I tell my contact and she brings this other dude in who tells me "oh yeah, I was going to come in Friday to tell everyone our plans, you think I should do it now?". Um yes? Maybe then they will actually pay fucking attention?

We start to come back from lunch and oh look, the client's network is down. Whee. We have to move floors/rooms and the new one is a little nicer, but the monitor for me is awful. I can't win. Finished up class around 4:15 just in time for the storm of the week to hit. Fucking downpours with thunder and lightening. I did have a great dinner at a place where the pie is to die for. I may go back again tonight it was so good. Got back to the hotel around 6:30 and couldn't find any parking. WTF? I look in the doors and there's crowds of people? WTF?? As I enter I realize what's going on - the hotel is a voting place. I bet if I look out the window right now, there'll be four cars out there.

Watched some TV (the Doctor, Graham Norton, John Oliver - a total Brit fest) and went to bed.

Three more days and then Disneyland.
