Doing pretty good this morning. A little tired but feel pretty rested overall. Slept well again last night. Had a fun night with the kid. We went to a Cajun place for her birthday dinner. But let's start at the beginning of the day.

Taught a class all day. Nothing exciting there. Semi-small class, 7 people. It's the administration class so it is a lot of talking. It's been a long week in that respect. My throat is starting to itch a little as it does after too many days in a row teaching. But the class went fine, no real problems. Today is day two and then the weekend is all mine.

Finished up class around 2:30 and went to pick up B's check for her. Deposited it in the bank and came back home. Took a brief little nap of about 30 minutes. I finished watching Season 4 of the Doctor. Oh the feels. In the last two days I have watched four episodes and they are the last four of David Tennant. So sad. I swore I would never watch that show and look at me getting all misty eyed over it. Sigh. But now it's time to move on to season 5.

Left to get the kid around 6 and we hit the restaurant about 7. Luckily we had a reservation because there were some large parties going on. When we got there I made a point of telling them it was her birthday. As we sat down they brought her a celebratory Hurricane. 5 rums and way too much fruit juice. For dinner we had all sorts of good stuff - biscuits and gravy sliders, alligator sausage, dirty birds, ribs, slaw, grits, and then for dessert they brought her out beignets and I had pecan pie. We had a good time talking about everything including moving and B. It was nice.

She was as she put it, "a little more past drunk than she wanted" but she was happy. After her Hurricane she had a ginger julep concoction which put her over the edge. It was hilarious. I got home around 9 and talked to B. Today is her birthday and I was able to be the first one to wish her happy birthday because it was already midnight for her. We talked for a while and then I was in bed by 10.

In other news, my friend's mom passed away. She was a wonderful woman who had been sick for a while and luckily went quickly and peacefully. They are off to FL for the funeral today. I wish them all my love and good karma.

Off to teach.
