Ugh. This is why I don't drink any more. 3 drinks last night and I feel like mud this morning. Well that will take care of me for a good six months minimum. Not to mention how much it adds to your bill. Not fun at all. I enjoyed dinner, I enjoyed the company, I am just not enjoying having to be at 3:45am when I got home close to 10pm. That part is not fun.
Taught my class. Almost everyone made it on time. Only one officially flagged as late. For these classes I have to return an attendance list back to the coordinator. She is in Ireland and doesn't know who is showing up or not without me. I try to be nice and let people slip, but if you're late, you're late. Class went from 6 until 1:40. I was supposed to go straight downtown but I decided to wait because otherwise I would be wandering around doing nothing. I am glad I did. I accidentally fell asleep on the couch while I was waiting and woke up stressed. I thought I was late. I wasn't. Nope. Even with my micro nap I was still downtown 2 hours before dinner. Whew. I went to the mall, got a couple of things at Bath and Body for travel, meandered in the clothing stores, then headed to the restaurant at 6:18. The reservation was at 6:30. Unfortunately my buddy got stuck because of some stupid ass protesters blocking the train lines. I sat at 6:40, ordered a drink (my first mistake), some smoked escolar (not a mistake), and waited until 7 for him to arrive.
We had a good time. I had the smoked escolar, salmon tartare with foi gras and strawberries, steelhead gravlax, freekah, and for dessert, a peach shortcake. The food was awesome. The additional two drinks I had (apple cider sangria) I could have done without. Left the restaurant around 9, hopped on a train, hit the station at 9:40, and was settled in at home around 10. Talked to B briefly and went to bed.
Speaking of B, she had a rough morning yesterday. She was supposed to hang out with one of her friends and go to a cider mill but, like most 20 year old irresponsible stoner boys, he flaked on her. "oh I have to work, I thought we were going tomorrow". Good job butthole. From what I can tell the rest of her day was better. I think she met up with the friend she reconciled with the other night. I need to warn her. Just because she reconciled with one, she needs to be careful not to drop the other ones who DID stand by her for the last two years. It's easy to get caught back up in the primary friendship and forget the ones who were there the whole time. She is going to need to watch that closely.
Another 6-2 day. Same class as yesterday, different group. 15 students today. This time if I nap after, it will be okay. One more day of this early stuff. 6:30 - 10:30 tomorrow. Then it's the weekend in my book. B will be home Monday and all will be right in the world.
