BORK BORK BORK
That's all I am hearing right now. We made the great decision to go to Astoria during sea lion mating season! Yes, outside our room our hundreds of sea lions on rocks just barking up a storm. All day, all day. They never stop. It's not so horrible to be honest. When you in bed you can't even hear them funny enough. As you move closer to the door to the balcony you hear them more. Regardless of the sea lions I had a really good day yesterday. For the first time in weeks my tinnitus wasn't bothering me. I could actually function. I needed this trip out of town it would seem.
Went to the store before we left mostly to put in gas and mail a package for B. Got back and we headed out around 10. The drive was relaxing and nice. Still plenty of snow in the mountains but it's on the side. Pretty to see not in my way. Just how I like it. And humans most of the time. We stopped at Tillamook Cheese Factory for lunch, souvenirs, ice cream, and of course cheese. Then we took the drive up the coast to Astoria. From where we are it's kind of a triangle to these places. If we take one highway we end up in Tillamook, the other Astoria. Or we do the whole triangle by driving up the coast between the two. It's about a 60 mile drive but it was a good one this time. Through all the beach towns and small woodsy towns. One I really like is Nehalem near Cannon Beach. Just a nice little town.
We got to the hotel around 2:30, relaxed, went downtown around 6, had sushi for dinner, wandered around, went for a drive, and got back to the room around 8. We spent the rest of the night in bed and fell asleep around 11.
Today we are driving to Seaside to feed the seals at the aquarium then heading home. Should be home by 2 or so. A good weekend so far.
