We went from a freeze warning in effect to a flood warning in effect. Wonderful. It rained all damn day yesterday. Like hard rain too. We were warned for 4-5 inches of rain. Our 'pond' in the backyard upgraded to a small lake. It should ease up today and actually be nice come the weekend. Not that I will be going anywhere. I don't care what the dummies around me are doing. I am staying inside for another month at least. On a positive note about that, I was talking to the kid last night and she is back to full time hours and it looks like she will be able to work from home permanently going forward. Like once a week visits to the office, but otherwise 4 out 5 days at home. She will save on rent, gas, food, etc. Good for her!
I got a lot accomplished yesterday. Only have like two more demos to write and I will have three classes done. Not too shabby. Productive day. I worked until about 3 and then made a new recipe for dinner. It was one of those 'what do we have in the pantry' kind of recipes. I made a nice teriyaki chicken with pineapple fried rice. I was impressed with myself. Trying to come up with some variety of what we're eating you know? After 74 days SIP, it's getting harder to think up variety. At the end of the month I plan to do some data anylsis on our spending and can't wait to see the uptick in grocery spend compared to the downtick of gas and dining spend. Should make for some interesting data.
Had the meeting with the new boss yesterday. Went as well as could be expected. He is learning the lay of the land. Overall he's a good guy. He has experience doing this and understands some of the subtleties of the work we do. So far no complaints. I am sure there will be, but all is okay right now.
Today and tomorrow have real classes. 12 students from Pru. Most of whom I recognize their names from recent classes. This should be decent in terms of frustration level. We shall see. Holiday on Monday too which is nice. Just need to make it through the week and get 3 days to do nothing. Inside. Alone. Welcome to 2020.
