Worst drive ever yesterday. We left at 12:30 and expected to be here by 5:30. It took us 8 hours to get here. A drive that should take 5 normally. The biggest issue was we got stopped in the middle of nowhere on the freeway because three semis decided to bump into each other, one of which caught on fire. THAT shut down the entire freeway. We sat there 5-10 cars back from it for TWO hours. As a result of that, it put us right in the middle of rush hour morning traffic. We sat for another hour in traffic. I was so aggravated by the time we arrived, but it all settled down.
Our first stop was IHOP. We had a nice relaxing breakfast then got into the park around 9:30. Since it was a Friday and since there are people scared of measles and it was overcast and cloudy, we had a mellow amount of people in the park. It wasn't empty but it wasn't packed. We walked right on Indy, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates all within the first hour. That was nice. We also went on Jungle Cruise and Roger Rabbit during the day. We had a nice time talking and hanging out. Around 2:30 we went to the hotel. Got checked in and then we slept until around 5.
For dinner we headed over to Gump's at GardenWalk. We had such a great time. We had a bunch of drinks all in take home glasses. They sang happy birthday and made her dance. We laughed and talked. It was really nice. I needed it.
We got back to the hotel around 9 and ordered room service dessert. The kid had a chocolate trio and I had a cheesecake trio. Finally around 10 we both collapsed.
In the end a shitty morning turned into a wonderful day.
Today we are going to have tiki, martinis, and frozen fun.
