So many boxes. Over 350 tagged items including furniture. Hey remember how I was worried this guy under-estimated the weight of all my stuff and that there might be a problem? Well one of those was right. When we moved to OR, the weight of everything was around 8,000 lbs. This time? The driver told us our stuff was close to 11,000. The guy at the office under scoped are weight big time. Not our issue. This is why I was so adamant about getting a not to exceed quote and why everyone else came in so much higher. They knew we would be somewhere around 10k at least. Not this guy. We were looking over some of his estimate (me and the driver) and he severely under figured a lot of the small boxes. He assumed small box and was like 5 lbs. Problem is at least 20 of our small boxes were book boxes each closer to 20 pounds. So what should have been 400 lbs came in at 100. Hey, it's over, it's done, it's paid, go away.

The movers showed up promptly at 8am, got set up, and were unloading by 8:20. He had a MUCH better crew this time. Two young guys who were eager to get paid and get the job done. They had that truck unloaded by 11:30. They were also very respectful of our doors, walls, and floors. They did an excellent job. Now for us to put it all away. We did manage to get a few things setup. The guest room is good, our room is good, and my desk is good. Not my whole office mind you, but my desk at least. Both upstairs and downstairs. This means I can get some work done without too much trouble. That's important.

We worked straight through until almost 11:30 breaking only for a quick dinner. I have some specific tasks to get done today and then I will be right back on it to help get things done. B's friend is coming over today to help her and they are focusing on kitchen. Good, I want to be able to cook at home. Next we will probably focus on living room, B's office, then finally basement. I have only a few more days at home and then it's nothing from me for a good while.

I am going to be doing some recording this morning. First big test of my new space. Wish me luck.
