Y6 D36

Yesterday was a serious comedy of errors and the one company that did nothing wrong was the only one that apologized. Go figure. So, I left the house at 4. They didn't send my normal driver which sucked because I like him and he knows how to drive. Not that it really mattered. I was so tired from being up all night that a unicorn could have driven me and I probably wouldn't have noticed. Got to the airport around 4:20 and things were looking positive. I was the only one in the first class line and made it through security in 3 minutes. Got to my gate and was like the third one on the plane. The plane was incredible. It was a brand new plane. Still had that new plane smell. These were the nicest first class seats I have ever been in on a plane. Comfy, squishy, all automated - nicer than the ones I had in business class international. For a domestic flight they were great. They even had tablets built into the headrests. I started playing around with it and started to watch a movie. Yes, they were operational prior to take off too. Then the fun started. Turns out said new plane was broken. A fire safety light wouldn't go off. We ended up deplaning and waiting for a new plane. That's where the fun started. AA's automated system went ahead and booked me on a later flight since I wasn't going to make my connection. Okay, nice of you. BUT by doing so, I lost my 1st class seat. Well shit, you could have warned me. Then my original connecting flight got delayed 2.5 hours so the system put me BACK on it. Then it looked like my original flight was going to be longer so the system once again bounced me. In the end I went back and forth without my permission between two different flights. When I finally got to Dallas I went to a gate agent and had her put me back into my upgrade seat on the original flight. I arrived 3 hours later than originally expected. Not horrible, but frustrating. But then I get to the Avis counter and my car is gone because I was 3 hours late. EVEN THOUGH I called Avis and warned them I would be late. Now I am in some POS Chevy Captiva. I didn't want a SUV thank you. Granted it is a 2014 and has 1000 miles on it, but that's not the point. It's not what I reserved. During all this, I tweeted Hilton that I was going to be late. Their response? "We called your hotel, let them know you're going to be late, made sure you have a nice room ready and we're sorry for all the trouble you've been having today". THE ONLY ONES TO APOLOGIZE and they did everything right.

I arrived at the hotel around 5. Unpacked, ironed, and grabbed Raising Cane's for dinner. I watched some OITB while trying to stay awake. I finally gave up around 9:15 and crashed. I got 8 hours of sleep finally. Much needed. The messed up part is that between yesterday and Wednesday, it will have taken me longer to get and go home than the actual amount of time spent training. Ridiculous.

Alright, I have 3 hours now until I have to be onsite. I might go get some breakfast.
