2017. Wow. That's a long time. Happy new year my friends.

Thanks for sticking with me through all this. Through the daily tribulations of this thing we call life. I do hope that at some point future generations find this and get a glimpse of life. At the very least, my daughter will have something to remember me by. Enough of that talk. Let's start a new year!

We did manage to stay up until midnight at least. We didn't go out or do anything, but we were up. Mostly due to the stupid neighbors around here shooting off fireworks until 1am. Look, it's one thing when it's an official display. When it's planned, it has a start and an end. Not some drunken hillbilly randomly shooting shit off from his front yard until all hours of the morning. It's just fucking annoying. AND they started in at like 8pm. WTF? Really??

We had a good day. Went to Red Robin for lunch because we both were craving a sit down burger kind of place. Came back, cleaned a bit - changed sheets, cleaned the kitchen, etc. Nothing fancy but just some straightening up. It started to snow for a while but it went away quickly. I was telling the kid the forecast calls for snow while she is here. She is not too excited about that. Her response was basically "I have to bring pants". Yes, yes you do. Sorry. Her and I talked yesterday. I am really excited about the things she has planned for the future. Good head on her shoulders. I wish I could help her out more financially, but I will do the best I can.

Made a steak for dinner along with some zucchini noodles. Those were interesting. Played games until midnight and went to bed. As you can see, I slept in a bit. 8am already.

Not much planned for the next two days. I am sure there are plenty of people waking up today with hangovers, bullshit resolutions, and strangers in their bed. I woke up to a good life and an annoying cat. I am starting this new year so far so good.
