Y8 D239

Well yesterday was full of ups and downs, that's for sure! Let's start with B discovering at lunch that someone tried to steal $1500 from her bank account. A little debit card fraud anyone? That's how I spent my lunch yesterday - on the phone dealing with Wells. We still don't know where or how they got her card number. A new one will be here early next week.

In other news of yore, I got a new laptop and a $5300 raise yesterday. To be honest I wasn't gunning for the laptop, but it was the only way I could get things pushed through quickly. If I wanted the full amount in cash ($8500) then it was going to be more back and forth and hemming and hawing. Now this way I have a new laptop, B gets my current MacBook Pro, and the company can write off that portion of the raise. Win for everyone. We picked it up after class yesterday. I spent a good portion of last night getting it setup and ready. It's not too shabby. Faster CPU and SSD. Better sound. Sharper screen. Lighter and a little bit thinner too. Cons? The whole 4 USB-C ports and that's it. I did have to order a multi-adapter to be able to hook things up to it. That should arrive today as I popped the extra $4 for overnight delivery.

Taught my class. That went pretty good. We finished around 2:45 which is optimal for any class completion. Not too early but not right up until the money. A big group but 90% of them know what they're doing which is a refreshing change. Only a couple of small issues.

After class we went to the mall for the laptop, wandered around a bit, then went to the grocery store on the way home. I wanted to make B wouldn't have any issues while I am out of town next and has plenty of food. Got home, made chicken, worked on the laptop. Bed came around 10:30.

Unrelated news - B's friend back in MI is going to be struggling for a little while. Her worked burned down yesterday. Yep. Caught on fire and at least a month before they can go back. That royally sucks.

The kid may have found a place for $500 a month. Her first place truly on her own. So proud. She has been working on getting transferred to a new location of her current job to make the move easier. It should all come together in about 3 weeks. Crossing fingers.

Day two of class today followed by getting ready to go out of town next week. Eye doctor on Monday then Chicago the rest of the week. No weekend plans currently.
