People are stupid. I just saw someone trying to argue how HSAs are a "great way" to "save" for medical expenses completely missing the point of the original poster. The original poster was lamenting the fact that if you're trying to save for other things or even just living paycheck to paycheck then an HSA is a luxury. And it is. The replier was like "but it's tax free money!". Um, idiot, if they need every dollar of that paycheck then it doesn't matter WHEN it comes out, it can't come out at all. Wether it's the full $100 or 75% because it's after taxes, it's irrelevant. The ACA was at least helping the people who could make some kind of payment. Then you have old people with their 'in my day we paid for everything'. Yeah, and you didn't have insurance premiums that were $500 a month for two people. Or cell phone bills. Or internet. "You don't need those fancy doo-dads! You dang kids!" Really? How about for job interviews? How about for finding a job in the first place? Tell me any decent company that pays a reasonable salary that advertises in a newspaper that doesn't say "Apply online". Did I mention the increase in the average rent or housing cost in the last 30 years? Where the cost of living has not only failed to keep pace, but is in the negative in the majority of states compared to average living costs? Oh yeah, America is doing GREAT again...

In lighter news, was watching SVU with B and who should pop up? Alex Kingston! And her character's name? Miranda Pond. Well done SVU writers, well done. For those of you going huh? She is the actress who plays River Song on Doctor Who. Her real name isn't River Song though. It's Melody Pond. You know I am really looking forward to the new season in April. I am hoping it can capture some of the magic of prior seasons. Don't get me wrong, I love Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. It's the writing I miss. Many of the Tennant and Smith episodes had better writing. The Girl Who Waited. Blink. The Girl in the Fireplace. Bad Wolf. Faster paced dialog. A sense of urgency. Emotion. Dammit. Now I want to go watch the Doctor.

Was not planning on leaving the house yesterday but the cat had other plans. I was worried about putting up these new curtains for the exact reason of yesterday. She had to try and get behind them. In the process knocking over a bunch of shit including my vape tank and breaking it. Juice all over, broken glass. I didn't have a replacement glass and had to go to the vape shop. Oh well. At least I left the house.

Side note - kudos to my sister for losing 80+ since May of last year. I didn't know she had lost so much. Good job!

I thought of it because I was thinking of our dinner. Made a quiche and a salad. We are trying to eat better. Maybe be a little less fat ourselves.

Went to bed around 11. Nothing immediate on the docket today, but starting tomorrow I am jam packed for the next two weeks. Going to enjoy this last respite.
