The kid is here! YAY!! We got up early yesterday and first went over to B's cousin's to take care of the animals. We left her at about 7:20. The weather was starting to get nasty. Wind, cold. The snow was a coming, you could feel it. We hung out there until about 8:45 and then headed to the airport. Her flight was on time so we didn't have too long to wait. We had a donut and relaxed. She got off the plane at 10 on the dot, got her luggage, and headed home. It started snowing on the way home. On the way we stopped at the one store where you'd have though the apocalypse was upon us. You can tell the difference between 'locals' and people who have never seen snow. The store we went to has a large indian customer base and they were freaking out. Dude. We got about an inch of snow. Calm the fuck down people. We ended up at another store where there was no one. We had Chik-Fil-A for lunch, and got home.
Once we got home we did second Christmas. That was followed by THE DISMANTLING OF CHRISTMAS! WHEEE! All the stuff is put away, the house looks less cluttered, and everything is clean. Bye bye for 10 more months.
Around 5:30 the kid and I went out to dinner. B wanted some alone time and so did me and the kid. We went to this really cool roadhouse. We had a fun time, didn't spend too much money, and because of the huge amount of snow (seriously, one inch or less) it was pretty dead. She had an elk burger and I had beef stroganoff. We hung out and talked about her plans, what I can do to help, her and the bf, etc. It was nice. I miss having her around.
Got back around 7:30 and we all just relaxed. She is constantly bugged by her grandparents at home and she was happy to simply have some downtime to herself. I went to bed around 10 as I was super tired. Notice I slept in!
Today more animal stuff as their flight was cancelled. They now don't get home until tomorrow night. No biggie just one more day of animal stuff. Then B and the kid are going to the movies. My day for some alone time. Then we are all going to the mall. After, German food! Big day planned.
