I was all set to teach today when I learned something yesterday. Early in the morning I sent an email to my boss as I haven't heard from him in days. I asked about the upcoming project in SoCal, my private sessions next week, my classes this week, and how did Q4 look. He ended up calling me around 9 and letting me know the answer to everything. Next week's sessions are still a go and he sent out the email to the client for confirmation, he also sent out an email about February, Q4 looks like we exceed goal (full bonus check for me hopefully. It all depends on what gets billed for Q4 versus Q1. As far as him and I are concerned, Q4 was good.) and then this week. It seems that are outsourced team that manages the website and registration forms fucked up and didn't put any of the classes for this week online. They didn't just screw up mine, they also messed up another instructor's classes. She was supposed to have taught Tuesday and Wednesday and now she is without classes too. I asked if he needed me to take PTO for today and tomorrow and he said no as it wasn't my fault they screwed up. Fair enough. Instead he wants me to work on taking a certification test. I can do that. Not a problem. Today I am going to review all the training material and then take the test on Friday. I also reminded him he agreed to let me upgrade my AA account. He forgot about that but he said to go for it. Hence today's plans.
I then spent the day doing a whole lot of nothing. I decided to try and play more with Plex. I let it scan all the directories. It took most of the day, but it is now up and running and reading my files automatically. Let's see if I like it or not. Around 3 B got a call that her ring was finally ready. I don't know how much I went into it here, but she has been unhappy with how the jeweler soldered her ring and before we went out of town she complained to corporate. After seeing pictures of it and what happened they agreed to not just fix her ring, but give her a brand new one. We have been waiting for it to come back in. This especially makes me happy as that is one of the accounts I just paid off. She owns her ring, her bracelet, and her tennis bracelet. Boom. We headed out to the mall and the ring was still messed up. All of the women in the store immediately saw the problem and agreed with her. I was on the fence. Here's the issue - they soldered it the way it *should* be which is not how the picture shows it. She wants it the way the picture is because it looks better. The jeweler did it technically correct, not picture accurate which is in fact the wrong way. In the end emotion won out over logic and they sent the ring back to have it done again. She should have a new ring in 3-5 business days.
While we were out she wanted to stop at the craft store. We also went into the storage store there. We had dinner at the seafood place which was really good. We had a fun time with the waitress joking about us and the old people in the place. Hey we were hungry dammit. After dinner we walked around and went to the book store. They were having a sale on stuff and we ended up getting Harry Potter trivial pursuit. Got back home around 7:30 and I decided to do something. I have had this pile of electronic cables and mice sitting by the door ever since I cleaned out my cable bins. I took those and some clothes we have had sitting to the Goodwill. Didn't even ask for a receipt. Just here ya go. Enjoy.
Got back and we played the new game. I did pretty well. I mean I lost, but we both knew that was coming. It was fun for her and I didn't have a horrible time. She went and showered, then we watched the season premiere of always sunny. I give it a B+. After she did some crocheting while I played Fallout 4. I got through all of the intro stuff and have just emerged from my Cryogenic container. I left off after exploring for a while. I will play more today since I don't have a class to worry about.
Went to bed around 11:30. A pretty good day all in all me thinks.
