The kid is here! Happy days all around! First sad news:

B's stepmom is in the hospital. I don't fully know or understand what's wrong but last night she checked in due to dehydration issues and then her blood pressure screamed out of control. They were looking at putting her in ICU but they managed to get it back down. They are keeping her overnight to monitor things and see what happens. I hope this is the end of it and she won't have to go back in.

My sister is dealing with some medical shit with her mother right now too. I am proud of her decisions to put herself first because frankly her mother isn't a nice person. It's always sad when someone is in pain, but the feels stop there.

My day started with texts from the kid with her trip to the airport and her grandparents driving 2 miles an hour on the freeway. From there I supported her remotely through the kiosk checkin, security, and finally to her gate. She boarded around 8:30 and was on here way.

We went out around 9:15 to pick the kid up. As we pulled into the airport she texted. Her flight was almost 30 minutes early. The timing worked out perfectly. As we were walking towards security she was coming out. No delay at all.

We went to the cheese bar for lunch where she had a cheese board, B had the baked mac and cheese, and I had the pork loin sandwich. After, we headed home where we did Christmas finally. The kid got to open all her presents and then we took down the tree. After two months, the holiday season is officially over in our house. We were able to move some furniture around and things look great. I am very happy.

B took a nap, the kid read, and I cleaned up all the paper. After the kid and I went to the store because she packed one pair of pants and 10 skirts but not enough tights for this weather. It was nice just spending time out together. We got a bottle of mead which was really good. We had that after dinner. For dinner, we did sushi. Then we took her to the big Japanese store where we got mochi for dessert. Came back home, had our dessert, and watched a movie together. We were all exhausted and in bed by 10. She is sleeping on the couch right now and I am trying to not make noise.

Today we are going to best buy to look at laptops as her's is dying. I bought it for her 5 years ago so it has done it's job. After we are heading downtown to go to Powell's and do some shopping. We are going to have dinner at the omikase style cheese place downtown. Yes, more cheese. I have been wanting to go there since we moved here but haven't had anyone to go with me. Finally this will be happening. We will probably have lunch off a food truck. I am going to grab cash to make that easier too.
